Colorful vibes

Before I travel to India I have always a list of things to buy, nowadays it's mostly about my new home. My home is all set up, what I focus now is on the beautification part. It's an ongoing process, I keep doing little things here and there to add little glamour and bring in more warmth on my 4 walls. As it is rightly said, home is just not about 4 walls, it's about the warmth you create in your space, that makes it a home.

When I travelled to Turkey my intention was to buy some nice souvenirs of Turkish designs for my home, I bought couple of things for wall decors from Turkey, but honestly things were pretty expensive there, so I could not buy much. This week I went to my local market, because I am aware that here also in the souk we have some shops which sells variety of art work from different regions, and the prices are reasonable compared to what I would have bought from Turkey.

I am looking for decorative wall plates with all different types of art, like Indian, Turkish, Asian art works. These plates I want to keep on the wall of the steps going up, and cover that whole area up. When it comes to any type of shopping I cannot settle down with one shop. I need to first check all the options in the market and then only I will decide what I have to buy. This sometimes does confuse me also, especially if the market is too big. But if there is anything that I like on the first look then I do not hesitate to pick it up.

Hubby does not have much of patience, but here I had prepared him to spend some more time and visit a few shops before making final selections and he had agreed to. Thankfully he did not throw any tantrums on it....hehe. After going through the market, we made our final selection at one of the stores, where I could get very good variety and the prices were also decent. I picked up 3 ceramic plates for now.

This is one of them.

They are 3 different sizes of which I will do mix and match with other designs and place them on the wall. I have selected a few from Amazon as well, which are majorly of Indian art work and some Asian. I will mix them up with some frames of different places that I have travelled and decorate the whole wall. I want to make it like a mix culture thing of the places that I have visited. End of this month when I travel back home and finish this job, I will share an update with you all.

While I was buying these plates, my eye went on a shop who was exclusively selling evil eye and they were very different from the traditional ones that are available in the market. Not only that, the whole shop was something very different, it had amazing collection. I did not buy anything, just saw it from the outside.

The most attractive part of this shop is it's entrance. The steps have evil eye fixed up all over. I had a word with the shop keeper on this and he told me that all the damaged pieces he had used up to create this kind of art. I would say it is very impressive and unique.

I am happy with my shopping, and I can't wait to get back home and set it all up.
