The dollar has been volatile in its own right
If you've followed finance for any length of time you will likely have noticed that volatility is another way of saying something goes down.
Literally the market is getting volatile means the market is crashing.
It doesn't mean what it should mean, IE prices go up and down.
It is almost exclusively used when prices are dropping.
