Black and White Photography Contest – Week #229
There is something haunting, yet peaceful, about watching a bird alone in the branches.
I shot this in Montreal, Canada, using a Nikon D40 paired with an old analog 50mm lens.
I shoot directly in black and white, as it helps me see straight to the point, stripping the scene to its essence.
This image was taken on a cold afternoon, where everything felt still, except the sound of wings and wind.
The silhouette tells a quiet story — one of presence, patience, and perspective.
Sometimes, the simplest moments hold the deepest weight.
