The Prestigious University of Uyo... one of the best academic institution in South-South Nigeria 🇳🇬, has been and is still been plagued by the on going NASU (Non Academic Staff Union) strike.
An issue that has drastically changed the running of things in the school, that ranges from ;
Changing of the normal time for locking the hostels from 10pm 🕙 to 9pm🕘
Lockdown of the university's electricity generation set, thus resulting in lack of adequate electricity for the school
Due to inadequate electricity, also there is inadequate water supply to the hostels.
The toilets in the hostels are all in a mess.
Poor security
On the long run, this could escalate leading to diseases and eventually stoppage of academic activities in the school.
Students are now been locked out of their hostels for not been back on time...
With exams on the way, it is apparent to ask all sides to calm down and figure out a lasting situation and stop validating the #Shithole tag.
We have a similar situation in uniben.
