Introduction

First off, a big thank you to the Steemit Team for giving us the chance to be part of Steemit Challenge Season 24 as contest organizers. We truly appreciate the trust you’ve placed in us, and we’re committed to making this season engaging and exciting. Our goal is to boost participation by designing fun and accessible contests that anyone can jump into. You’ve shown faith in us and now it’s our turn to deliver and keep the energy high all season long! We’re focusing on inclusive, creative storytelling contests that bring out the best in everyone.

Our Team

We’re a team of four passionate writers, all with experience in fiction and active involvement in various Steemit communities under different roles. Here’s a quick look at our team:

Our Contest Theme

We’re diving into creative writing, especially fiction, as our main theme. It’s an amazing way to tap into imagination and explore storytelling in fresh and unique ways. Whether inspired by real events or entirely made up, storytelling helps develop both creativity and critical thinking.

Each week, we’ll give our fellow Steemians a short story prompt (around 200 words). From there, they’re free to build a complete story around it in their own style. Participants can start from where our prompt ends, or creatively weave it into the middle of their story, either way works, as long as the story doesn’t stray too far from the original prompt and ends with a meaningful conclusion.

Participation Guidelines

Here are the basic rules we’ll provide for contestants. We may adjust or add more in our weekly announcement posts as needed:

  • You can write in any language, as long as it’s supported by Google Translate.

  • Stories should be 300–1000 words long (excluding the provided prompt).

  • Use at least two copyright-free images (besides your thumbnail) and cite their sources.

  • Your post must include these three initial tags: #fiction-s24w1 #steemexclusive #yourcountry

  • No AI-generated or plagiarized content.

  • If we’ve included story characters in the prompt, stick with them and don’t make major changes.

  • The story should flow logically around the prompt and wrap up with a meaningful ending.

Note

We’ll be assigning scores like 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, up to a maximum of 3 where applicable. One thing we want to clarify: if we receive multiple entries with the same total score, our team will reread those posts and choose the one we collectively feel is the best overall.

How We'll Handle AI Content

  • We’ll be using these two tools to help detect AI-generated text, but we won’t rely only on them: ZeroGPT and Quillbot AI Detector (supports English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch).

  • We’ll also manually read through the submissions to spot robotic writing patterns or unnaturally perfect language. AI-generated stories often have a predictable tone, over-the-top descriptions, or use unnecessarily complex words.

  • Since many users might turn to ChatGPT or similar tools for help, we expect to see similar-sounding entries and they will be disqualified.

  • Before making a final judgment, we’ll also look at the author’s past posts and comments to see if the writing style matches or seems suspiciously different.

  • Some people even add deliberate spelling or grammar errors to hide AI use. We’ll disqualify those entries if caught.

Conclusion

We’re super excited to bring this contest to life and look forward to reading all the amazing, imaginative stories from our fellow Steemians. Let’s make this a season to remember—fun, fair, and full of creative energy!

Thank you, @waqarahamdshah This is a very clear and full commitment manifesto, I am confident that we all will be able to fulfill our commitment to this contest. And will satisfy all our Steemian friends with our meaningful efforts.

Thanks for posting the guidelines in advance! Tomorrow I post the opening week post and see how Steemians use their blog to create stories based on our prompts. I am sure we are going to get a good response for the opportunity provided by steemblog.

Absolutely, this is a great opportunity for them to showcase their storytelling skills.
