A real experience of a husband and wife—from quarrel to understanding ❤️ |
---|
My name is Imran Hosen. My wife, Afsanur, and I have been married for five years. We have a four-year-old daughter.
Our family is usually very peaceful. But one day, suddenly, a big quarrel broke out between us—and that incident and how we resolved it later are what I am sharing here.
There have been moments when I was also at fault; my anger allowed me to love, and sometimes, my wife has unknowingly provoked me with her actions. But despite the quarrels, what is clear is our ability to learn and grow from each experience.
That day, I had work from 2 pm to 10 pm; I was spending the morning at home. I was working on my laptop sitting on a wooden chair that I made myself. Suddenly, my wife got angry and said,
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): You work on your laptop all day, and I get tired doing all the household chores.
🧔 Me (Imran): What happened suddenly? Why are you getting so angry without giving me breakfast in the morning?
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): Your younger brother's wife does not work with me. We have been married for a year, but she does not help me with any work. Why don't you say anything?
🧔 Me (Imran): I got angry and shouted at my younger brother's wife -
Why don't you work with your sister-in-law? She has given me justice.
👩 Younger brother's wife (Mim): Brother, I did not do any work before marriage. I cannot do anything in the morning, but I will help my elder brother's wife in the afternoon.
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): If he doesn't cook breakfast in the morning, I won't cook either. Eat from wherever you can.
🧔 Me (Imran): I said again angrily, you are an older wife; you have to take some responsibility. New wives will learn with time.
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): I won't work like this again if they don't help.
🧔 Me (Imran): Hearing this, I angrily threw the wooden chair and broke it. Then she said,
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): You broke the chair and disrespected me right in front of your younger brother's wife.
🧔 Me (Imran): Then I angrily said, if you don't like it, leave this house.
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): The wife then said, Okay, I won't cook today. You see how you can eat at noon.
🧔 Me (Imran): I go to work without eating. I call in the afternoon; the phone is switched off. In the evening, I return home and see that my wife is not there. Later I found out that he had gone to his father's house with our daughter. When I called him, he said,
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): I have gone to my father's house; don't make me angry.
🧔 Me (Imran): I said you left the house without informing me about my daughter.
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): I didn't tell anyone; everyone knows I came for a visit. You can come if you want."
🧔 Me (Imran): The next day I took leave and went to my in-laws' house. He smiled when he saw me. I also smiled to myself; I understood that my anger had subsided.
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): Please don't tell anyone about our fight.
🧔 Me (Imran): Okay, since you didn't tell anyone, I forgot everything. We will return after lunch."
🧕 Wife (Afsanur): I have sent my father to the market; your favourite food will be cooked. Eat to your full stomach.
🧔 Me (Imran): I then hugged her and said: ❤️ "You know how to love the same way you get angry. Every home needs a wife like you."
This story is not just about fights but about compassion, understanding, and love. Differences can happen in life, but they can be resolved if we stand by each other, have a little patience, and love a little. To my wonderful wife, Afsanur - I salute you, not only for your patience but for being my companion on this beautiful journey of life. Wishing you many more years of love, patience, and understanding. ❤️
Challenge Question Answers
In your opinion, who showed more emotional maturity during the conversation, and why did you feel that way? |
---|
Answer: The wife showed more emotional maturity. Despite being deeply hurt, she remained patient, clearly expressed her feelings, and did not personally attack her husband. Her ability to confront without yelling and her calm yet firm statements reflect deep emotional intelligence and self-control.
Do you believe that emotional cheating can do more or deeper harm than physical cheating? |
---|
Answer: Yes, emotional cheating can often do more harm. Physical cheating may be fleeting, but emotional cheating is ongoing and involves a deeper connection. True betrayal begins in the heart—when emotional intimacy, trust, and attention are diverted to someone outside the marriage.
What are some subtle but powerful signs of increasing emotional distance between partners? |
---|
Answer:
Lack of meaningful conversations
Frequent use of mobile phones, hiding screens
Less eye contact and affection
Emotional detachment during arguments
Feeling like roommates instead of partners
Can love really survive deep betrayal? |
---|
Answer: Yes, but it requires honest conversations, therapy, time, and a mutual desire to heal. Once broken, trust can only be rebuilt if both partners are truly committed to reconnecting emotionally and spiritually.
If you were a marriage counsellor, what advice would you give to couples who are heartbroken and on the verge of healing? |
---|
Answer: If I were a marriage counsellor, my advice would be: Heal through communication. Listen before you judge. Express emotions without blaming. Seek counselling together. Take time to understand each other's emotional needs again. Most importantly, don't stop dating your spouse even after marriage. The emotional connection needs to be renewed, not assumed.
Conclusion
This challenge reminded me how powerful words and emotions are in a marriage. Betrayal doesn’t always come through physical acts—it starts when we stop choosing each other every day. If this post has made you think about your own relationship, then maybe it’s time to sit down and have a real talk—heart to heart.
I have invited three active friends of mine.

Reading the full story of your quarrel with your wife, I remembered a story that happened to me a few days ago. Later, I felt the same way as you did. Sometimes, what you see with your eyes may not be true, so you should first understand and then discuss without reacting immediately. In a family, husband and wife complement each other. I wish you all the best for your married life.
