bitten by bitter breath

tenacious, then
tough
passed from eager lips
spitting tongues
between ivory stones
minty green, turned grey
fallen
faded
a leather monster stomps my length
lifted and carried
through time
through space
smashed, again and again
unnoticed until at last i stick, only a little
but still ignored
then annoyance becomes too much
adhesion broken, scraped away
and i fall
limp
stretched
hardened
