Hm, haven't kept up with graphics cards lately. I have a 1070 but that's way out of your budget. My guess is if you want to stay with Nvidia, check out the 1060. The memory management in the new architecture may help speeds a bit compared to the 960. For AMD, you could go with an RX 460 with 4gb.
