What are patterns? I believe they are a sign that everything is taken into consideration. When every grain of sand, every bird, every apple is known, ‘taken care of’, and created by the same thing, there is bound to be some phenomena that shows there is a system or order used to this seeming chaos.

For instance, in nature, spirals. They can be seen on snails, a chameleon’s tail, or even some plants. This pattern has been visible through time even in human creation. Notable artist have used the spiral as a composition rule to create artworks appealing to the eye. Even something as seemingly unrelated as economics uses the Fibonacci sequence (a golden ratio spiral) in some financial markets. Waves, fractals, and hexagons, I could go on and on. These patterns are all seen in living and non-living things. Both in natural and man-made things.

Pure chaos doesn’t breed these sorts of reoccurrences, only order does. The Order that takes into account everything present, everything gained, everything lost. Order that has been long-standing and figured out the best ways to do things. When this ancient all-knowing Order decides the best way/system to let’s say… grow a flower, certain ‘patterns’ emerge when this Order takes on another similar or not so similar ‘challenge’ in its path of creation. Humans are slowly discovering these patterns in nature and using them in future man-made creations. In a sense, we are learning from this ancient Order.
