It all starts with a curiosity; planetary systems.

The reticulum is a constellation of the southern hemisphere, it is real and there are several stars and an exoplanet had been found. It is a small constellation but specifically it is a star system that is quite close to us, it is about 20 years away, it is not very far away, it is a double system but it is a “good” double system, let me explain.

The closest star system we have to the solar system is a triple system, it is Alpha Centauri, although the third star, which is the one closest to us, next Centauri, which is a red lullaby, is very far from the other two, the other two are stars similar to the sun, if there were a planet orbiting one of those stars we would not notice anything special in the sky, it would look like another sun to us.

The problem is that they are very close to each other and that is the problem with many double systems, of which there are many in the universe, that if they are very close the stars do not leave room for the planets, they eat the matter that is there and leave hardly any space, in Alpha Centauri there is still a window where there could be a planet the size of the Earth orbiting one of the two stars but, it is quite narrow because they are quite close, but in this reticulin which is a double system they are quite far away, so both stars could perfectly have planetary systems and not bother each other.

Until not long ago I knew very little about the stars, we had very little data on which ones were moving, in what direction and at what speed, now we have a wave of data thanks to space observatories, we know how they move, which ones are going to approach the solar system in the next millions of years, which ones have come very close to the solar system in the past and we already have a more or less overview of the nearby stars and what planets they have, which make them priority objectives for interstellar exploration when we have ships for them to travel there.
