KRI Teluk Palu-523, a Landing Ship Tank (LST) type warship belonging to the Indonesian Navy, has been docked at Krueng Geukueh Port since Saturday, May 3, 2025. This ship participated in the joint exercise "Trisula Jaya-25" which aims to strengthen the readiness of troops in the RI-Papua New Guinea (PNG) Border Security Operation (Pamtas) 2025.
The Commander of KRI Teluk Palu-523, Lieutenant Colonel (P) Barkah Ardianto Prahasto, M.Tr.Opsla said that the warship was tasked with transporting troops and logistics from the Infantry Battalion (Yonif) 113/Jaya Sakti, Bireuen, which will be on duty at the border.
"KRI Teluk Palu-523 is capable of transporting 45 combat vehicles or 10 Leopard 2 tanks, making it very effective in supporting the mobility of TNI troops and defense equipment," explained Lieutenant Colonel Barkah.

He detailed that the Trisula Jaya-25 exercise included amphibious landing simulations, securing coastal areas, and coordination between sea, land, and air elements. KRI Teluk Palu-523, which is equipped with four LCVP landing ships and the ability to transport two helicopters, is the backbone of this operation.
In addition, the ship made by PT Daya Radar Utama, Lampung, is also equipped with defensive weapons such as 40 mm Bofors cannons and 12.7 mm machine guns to anticipate threats during the mission.
According to Barkah, the RI-PNG Pamtas operation is one of the TNI's priorities to secure regional sovereignty, especially in areas prone to smuggling and cross-border security disturbances. The participation of KRI Teluk Palu-523 in this practical task report confirms the strategic role of the TNI AL in supporting the operational readiness of land troops.
"We are ready to fully support the tasks of Yonif 113/JS with the logistics and mobility capabilities of KRI Teluk Palu-523," said Lieutenant Colonel Barkah.[]
