Life sometimes is a question as no one knows how his or her journey will be. I left the house to attend a choir rehearsal in the church by Ikot Ekpene Road only for the public transit I used to be one of the victims in police teargas.
The incident occur from the main Uyo plaza down to University of Uyo town campus by ikpa road. As our bus was coming toward plaza side, we notice an hold up which made cars, buses to move step by step. The hustlers, hawkers were standing, some moving a bit faster while some were running which made the environment have a different look.
From then, people in the bus started to believe that something is wrong. Before we could know it, the bus was overwhelmed with a very unpleasant smell and I started to feel peppering in my two eyes. Trying to look at someone sitting next to me, tears was just dropping from her eyes as a baby and she was shouting am death, am death,my eye,my eye.
We were just struggling to breathe and to open our eyes. I couldn't withstand any longer and I had to used the handkerchief I was with to cover my face just to have a little good breathe. Some of the passenger were shouted at the driver to drop them but the driver insist as the force men were all around.
Meanwhile, our bus was still moving step by step and when our bus finally moved from the main scene, everyone highlighted. Since the force men were scattering the roads sellers who uses to stayed by the road side and do their various businesses, the whole place was deserted, I had to quickly run to a save place and stay for awhile.
When everywhere was calm, I then left the place to church which was my destination.
Thanks for stopping by.
