As the sun rose over the horizon on Friday, April 25th, 2025, I woke up with a sense of purpose and determination. It was the day I would take my cassava business to the next level.

In my previous post in this amazing community, I had shared my journey of buying a cassava farm plantation from a local farmer, and then taking you through the processes of peeling, washing, grinding, and pressing the cassava to remove excess water.

Now, it was time to share the final stage of my Garri production process - frying. I headed to the cassava grinding site, where I had stored my 5 bags of grated cassava. The morning sun was was gradually shining brightly as I carried the bags back to my house, eager to start the frying process.

The first task was to separate the chaff from the grated cassava. This was a tedious process, but I knew it was essential to produce high-quality Garri. I sat down, surrounded by the bags, and began to carefully separate the chaff from the cassava. The stress was much on me, but I didn't let that deter me. I was determined to get the job done.

As the hours passed, my hands moved deftly, separating the chaff from the cassava. It was a meditative process, and I found myself lost in thought, thinking about my business and how far I had come. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, I finished separating the chaff from the cassava.

Next, I began to fry the Garri in large quantities. The aroma of fried cassava filled the air, and my stomach growled with anticipation. I fried batch after batch, until I had filled three big basins with crispy, golden Garri.

As I looked at the fruits of my labour, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. I had worked hard to get to this point, and it had paid off. I calculated my profits, and my eyes widened in amazement. I had made a significant amount of money from my Garri business.

As I reflected on my journey, I realized that being a hardworking and industrious woman was the key to my success. I had taken a risk by investing in the cassava farm plantation, but it had paid off. I had learned new skills, from peeling and grinding to frying and packaging. And I had reaped the rewards of my hard work.

As I looked to the future, I knew that I would continue to work hard and innovate. I would explore new markets and opportunities, and I would continue to produce high-quality Garri that would delight my customers until I go back to the city of Uyo to continue my teaching job on school resumption. I am proud to be a woman entrepreneur, and I know that I would always be driven to succeed.
