Bulk purchase and single purchase which one do you prefer?

The commodity market is usually open to everyone as long as you have the interest in buying or selling any item. No one is instructed on how to buy or sell his/her products. Buying and selling is done based on an individual's pocket.

In homes or families, buying items of any kind is very important and a must. One thing is sure, it is either you buy in bulk or single (buy as you go).

To a layperson, a single purchase is 'buying as you go.' What this means is that you buy one or two at a time, not in a large quantity. For example, instead of buying seasoning cubes in a pack, I buy for #50.

Then, buying in bulk means buying in large quantities, especially for home storage, to avoid regularly purchasing the same thing every day. For example, instead of buying a box of matches, I can decide to buy a whole pack to avoid regularly purchasing the item and sometimes borrowing or being stranded when you need it most.

I prefer buying in bulk because:

1. It saves me time from going out to buy or even borrowing or leaving me stranded, as I've mentioned above. You may be sick and may not be able to go out or even have no one to help you. Having leftovers at home will help.

2. It helps in situations where you may not have enough money to buy a lot. You can make do with the one you have bought and stored at home, instead of being worried.

3. It helps in emergency situations where there's a need for it. Instead of running around, you quickly use the available one. It could be late in the night when you need the item and shops are closed, so you can fall back to your reserve at home.

4. It reduces excess spending as the price of the item may increase due to economic meltdown.

5. It saves costs. Sometimes, buying in bulk is less expensive (cheaper) than buying in single, you can save some money for another item.

I would advise people to buy in bulk if they have enough money due to convenience and saving of time and cost.

I don't believe so. I believe it's people's choice. Some rich people are misers. They feel people will cheat them and so decide to buy in singles due to lack of trust. I understand that some average people may not have enough money to buy in bulk. Some of them save up to buy in bulk.

My take is, buying in bulk or in single is not a matter of being rich, but it has to do with our mindset and individual's choice.
