Happy Sunday to my fellow country people, I hope you all had a wonderful day. I'd like to share a situation report with you about an incident that occurred in my hometown Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria yesterday. Please stay tuned for the update.
Yesterday marked the official flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Ibom Convention Center and the completion of the Ibom Hotel. As a security guard assigned to the construction site, I was fully equipped and on high alert to ensure the premises remained secure and protected throughout the event.
The event was scheduled to commence at 1 pm, but dignitaries, guests, and other notable personalities were already seated by then, eager for the ceremony to begin. The occasion drew attendees from nearby and far-flung villages, all of whom had gathered to witness this significant milestone.

Canopies were set up throughout the venue, all of which were packed with people from all walks of life. However, it was a different story for us security guards, who were stationed at the gate, enduring the scorching sun with no shade to offer us respite.
A few minutes later, the sound of sirens filled the air, signaling the arrival of our esteemed Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. The crowd parted to make way for the governor's entourage and convoy, which was then able to drive through and take its designated position.

The ceremony featured a musical presentation by the Akwa Ibom singers, as well as a thrilling performance by the dancing troupe. Following these entertaining displays, the governor took to the stage to deliver a speech and officially declare the flag-off ceremony open.
After the governor's address, the contractors overseeing the project were invited to share their insights on the project's timeline, including the expected duration of the construction phase.
Two foreign contracting firms were introduced to handle the project, and their representatives delivered impressive and reassuring speeches. Although the governor signed a five-year agreement with the contractors, they confidently pledged to complete the project within three years, which sparked widespread excitement among the audience, including the governor and the people of Akwa Ibom.

Meanwhile, as the speeches were underway, my fellow security guards and I remained steadfast at our posts, braving the scorching sun to fulfill our duties. Interestingly, we still managed to sneak in some time to take photos, and I, being the correct Steemian that I am, couldn't resist capturing some moments to share.
During his speech, the governor highlighted that the event marked a significant milestone in realizing the full potential of Akwa Ibom's tourism industry. He emphasized that tourism is a cardinal component of the ARISE agenda, which requires essential infrastructure such as modern conference centers and hotels to thrive.
The governor also used the opportunity to appeal to the people of Akwa Ibom to unite and avoid unnecessary political bickering, stressing that the ARISE agenda remains the guiding blueprint for his administration.
Refreshments were served to the guests, but unfortunately, none were brought to us at our duty post. We could only watch as the guests enjoyed their food and drinks, while we remained standing, focused on our responsibility of securing the gate.
Once the occasion came to a close and the governor had departed, I headed to the changing room to change out of my uniform and into my casual clothes. After that, I left for home.
As soon as I arrived, I didn't waste any time, as hunger had gotten the better of me. I quickly decided on a meal and started preparing it right away.
That was how I called it a day after I finished eating and also freshened up.
I'm inviting
