IN THE MORNING
As I woke up early this morning, I felt a tinge of sadness. Easter holidays had come to an end, and my stay in the village was over. It was time to bid farewell to the familiar sights and sounds of my childhood home and head back to Uyo.

After completing my morning house chores, I began packing up my belongings and those of my little boy, Princewill. We had accumulated quite a few things during our stay, and I wanted to make sure everything was accounted for, including a bag of garri and other food stuffs. Once we were all packed up, I bathed Princewill and myself, and we sat down to a hearty breakfast around 10 am.

With our bellies full, we set off on the three-hour journey back to Uyo. We hailed a taxi from the village, and as we hit the road, Princewill's eyelids began to droop. Thirty minutes into the trip, he fell fast asleep, exhausted from the morning's activities.
I gazed out the window, watching the familiar landscape roll by. The scenery was a mix of lush green forests, rolling hills, and quaint villages. As we drove, I felt a sense of nostalgia wash over me. I would miss the peace and tranquility of the village, but I was also excited to get back to Uyo and resume my teaching work and other routine.
IN THE AFTERNOON
We arrived at our house in Uyo at 1:37 pm. I was feeling a bit tired from the journey, but I knew I had to get settled and unpacked. After freshening up with Princewill, we took a much-needed nap.
Later that afternoon, at 4:55 pm, I headed to the market to pick up some food items. I had brought back some cocoyam from the village, and I was eager to cook a delicious pounded cocoyam dish for our dinner. As I wandered through the market stalls, I selected the freshest ingredients for a native soup that is renowned for its health benefits. As the aroma of the cooking soup wafted through the house, my stomach growled in anticipation.

IN THE EVENING
Finally, dinner was ready, and Princewill and I sat down to enjoy the fruits of my labour. The pounded cocoyam and native soup were absolutely delicious, and I felt grateful for the opportunity to share a taste of my childhood with my son.

As I write this article, I am filled with a sense of contentment. Today was a day of transition, but it was also a day of gratitude. I am thankful for the time we spent in the village, I'm grateful to God for a safe journey back to the city and I am excited to see what the future holds for us here in Uyo.
