We are nearly at the end of March, so I want to give you a view of how I am progressing in my Steem staking goal for this year. Again, I have been procrastinating and am not posting even half of the articles I thought I would have authored by this time. On the other hand I have gotten some mighty fine @steemcurator votes so I am actually doing all right with my goal.
This is how I found my account today, so I just took my rewards and after this screenshot is the shot of my current Staked Steem.
So I have slightly over 1700 Staked Steem at the end of March, contrasting with the 1300 I had at the end of December. So, in three months I have been able to make about 400 Steem. So using this as a benchmark, in the following nine months I should be able to make three times that amount, better said about 1,200 Steem. Thus if I can keep up with this rate, I could have 2900 Staked Steem at years end.
Of course this all depends on how many articles I write and how much voting power I receive. my best paying articles up to now have been my recaps of important football games. I do know a lot about football, as I played and after I was injured I just took the next step become a complete fan. Of course, nowadays, I am unimpressed by, first of all the refereeing which is, I think worse than it used to be and even taking into account the use of VAR technology. It is worse because before, a hand was a hand and did not need any interpreting and a foul was a foul. These days it all depends on if the referee thinks a thing was intentional.
I will tell you an anecdote, in the town where I grew up, once an older guy who was a referee disallowed a goal because he adduced the goal scorer had kicked the ball too hard and could have caused anyone it hit, damage. This was the dumbest take I had ever seen up to a few years ago, when referees actually started making decisions which reminded me of that long ago referee. And he only did that because he was a clown and wanted to create controversy.
Well enough of football and back to goals. I am quite satisfied with the way my account is growing, Steem is Steem and I have it staked, the price is low right now but it could and probably will go much higher, so I am glad I have a small but growing stash. And I think this year I will reach my goal. I am making it obligatory to send 25% of my earnings to @null, this certainly decreases my earnings, but I believe burning Steem is beneficial for the Steem token as well as for the platform.
