“Adventure is worthwhile” and I never realized this saying until I experienced it, 7 years ago, I had a trip with my friends to the Murree hill station during the mid-term holidays.
About Muree:
It is a very pleasant place having mountain Resorts. It is located in the range of Islamabad.It is Initially known as US Sanatorium. as it used to serve British Troops and was one of the several hill stations established in the foothills of Himalayas across the Indian Subcontinent.
The trip to Murree was pleasant as I was going out of the city with my friends for the first time. My trip started early in the morning, we were five friends one of whom was driving — During the journey we turn on the music and hooted for fun. All of us were enjoying ourselves. The four-hour journey passed very quickly.
Journy:
The roads leading to Murree were very interesting, the twisting and winding roads leading to the heights. And tall trees on the sides which were adding to the beauty of the destination.
Mall Road:
We stopped the car at Mall Road as it was the main road of Murree. On one side of Mall Road is the beautiful building of GPO while on the other side is Pindi Point. Down Mall Road are Murree’s residential areas and markets. There are shops selling dry fruits, clothes, and decorative items. Where there is a rush of buyers all the time. We locked the car, and went to a nearby hotel. We took two rooms in a hotel adjacent to Mall Road. The room rent was very reasonable. We had some rest, had some food, and freshened up before we went for a walk around.we left the mall road towards the amusement park Patriata where we had to take a swing on the cable car. we were enjoying scenery and nature views all around while going towards patriata. When we reached there. We saw a heavy rush of tourists for swinging cable car .One of my friend went and got tickets for our turn.
We had paid 500 per person and after waiting half an hour we took a swing on the cable car As the lift gets higher, the tenderness, passion, and dedication increased. we got lost in the lush Talisman nature. Far below, the roofs and courtyards of Murree residents’ houses were seen.
Along with the houses, the view of the gray road winding down is also remarkable. After completing the chairlift journey at the first station We board a cable car that took us down to the picturesque platform of Patriata Top.
The beautiful corridors and sky-high trees of Patriata Top make the walk memorable. We enjoyed panoramic views and horse riding. We took some selfies and pictures of each other to make this trip a memorable trip. There is also a colorful bazaar where travelers have kept everything that tourists need.
A little above the Patriata Bazar is the Chila Gah (seat) of Bari Imam. Color pigments, flags, incense sticks, lamps; Devoters were organizing a festival every year there. We have visited the forest department rest houses which were 15 minutes away from patriata bazar. They were ancient but still in good conditions.
Patriata Bazar:
The road from Rest House to Kashmir View Point is rough but in good condition. The majestic view of the cedars makes the trip memorable. We covered the distance of 3 km from Patriata Bazar to this point on horses. Kashmir Point in Murree and Kashmir View Point in Patriata are the highest points ,We enjoyed an immortal view of the sides from both places. The weather was cloudy, which takes the atmosphere more intoxicating. The cloudy mountains make the scene magical. The clouds were return to our feet.
The view of the cloudy peaks of Kashmir from Kashmir View Point was so mesmerizing that it was difficult to return, but At 5:30 PM we came back to Mall Road where there was a rush of tourists. We shopped at some shops along Mall Road and had pizza at White Onion Restaurant.
We came back to the hotel at 9:00 o’clock , we take tea and bathed in hot water, and got into bed. We had another day to see natural beauty and preserve it in our eyes, we slept quite early due to exhaustion.The next morning we woke up at 7 o’clock and had breakfast at the hotel and after drinking tea ,we planned our next program.
Hotels like Bhurban Pearl Continental, educational institutes like Lawrence College, Iqbal municipal library and Convent of J&M, golf course, post office, hospital, mosque, and church, everything is present in Murree around the mall road .After visiting various historical and tourist places along the mall road and having shopping for the family,
we didn’t realize the passing time and it was 3:30. It was 5:30 when we left back for our city. The way back was a little sad that we were leaving the beautiful scenery of nature and going back to the busy life of the city,
but with beautiful memories, there was also the determination that the journey, and adventure. will become an integral part of our life and we will surely come again to explore and be mesmerized by these most beautiful scenes of nature. We reached home around 11:00 pm and fell asleep as soon as we got tired of the journey.
The next day we show everyone our memorable pictures and the gave things we had bought for them. We had a great time, I will always remember this trip.As per sayig of Henry Miller
