Hello everyone On this occasion I would like to participate in a contest held by @afzalqamar about Contest Alert: Health Safety During War
after my previous entry I would like to invite my friends @dove11 , @entity01 , and @ruthjoe to participate in this contest
War destroys buildings and life, has a direct impact on public health. Common war related health risks are physical injuries, psychological stress and strain, malnutrition, vector-borne disease outbreaks and breakdown of healthcare delivery.
Bad air, dirty water, limited access to medicines and medical care are other survivors' nightmare besides the war itself
In those circumstances, families and people have to adapt survival skills to survive. We are talking about: hygiene practices to the greater and personal level, avoid open areas subjected to urban and military attack and store as much food clean water supplies.
We absolutely need the everyday go forth with our basic medicines and first aid. Especially the children… to even have inner peace. My mom used to tell me a story of the rebellion when she was a little girl. She would live in a basement with her family for several days at a time on dehydrated food and water from jerrycans. They switched on a little radio to get the news and were trying to keep each other out of the blind panic.
Health workers and humanitarian workers are important during war/harassment. They are often putting their lives in danger to offer medical aid, vaccinations as well as psychological support to survivors. In areas where conflict is happening, there are agencies from the Red Cross, WHO (World Health Organization), along with local and International NGOs who offer emergency health care, facilitate temporary clinics as well distribute basic supplies. Where they are absent victims of war in particular, the young and old faced a greater risk of death.
Health awareness should be spread aggressively during wars as masses cannot get information anyway. Education on hygiene, disease prevention and helping you identify infected are a matter of life. Correct information may serve to stop panic and boxing-in potential dangerous hoaxes.
Some wars are unavoidable for some reasons but health needs to be an even higher priority. Using solidarity, assistance by fellow citizens and the composure of the global community we can contribute to keeping those affected by war healthy, strong and hopeful. It is not about staying healthy during wartime but rather being able to hold onto hope and life itself.
