Car Accident

It was late at night. There was absolutely nothing but darkness around. On the highway of Narayanganj, there was only one car. Its side was flipped, and the front part was badly damaged. It was dead quiet in the area.

It's Shaheen

But then the silence was pierced by the sight of headlights approaching the car. A few moments later, a man emerged from the car.

He looked into the window of the car. There was a person lying and motionless in the driver’s seat. He looked rich, dressed in a suit clearly worthy, blood bleeding out from his forehead.

The man opened the door of the car and pulled the body out. In the low light, the face of the nearly dead person became clear.

For a moment the man stood still, staring at the face.

Is that him? No... that’s Shaheedul Islam his twin brother.

Shaheen stood frozen. This individual was his twin brother. Shaheedul made himself as a high-profile businessman. And he? An aimless criminal who has no purpose of life.

At that time, an opportunity appeared.

He quickly looked around. It was dark, and no one was around.

Slowly, he leaned toward Shaheedul’s body. Then, he took instant decision. He tightened his grip around his neck—he wouldn’t release it until all movement stopped.

The following day, Shaheen came back as Shaheedul.

Now he had a big business, a big house, respect, a wife, children- everything. Shaheedul’s wife, Rubina, was initially horrified by the changes in her husband’s behavior. Of course, following an accident, people can alter. But soon, her suspicions started to grow.

Shaheedul had a brilliant memory. He remembered the small details about the family. But now he didn’t even remember his children’s birthdays, didn’t recognize familiar staff and even said things that Shaheedul would never say.

Rubina quietly watched him.

One evening she pulled out Shaheedul’s old diary. Then her eyes frozen on a particular entry as she flipped through the pages — where Shaheedul had written about his twin brother, Shaheen.

"My brother… I know he will never change. But what if he decides one day to take my position?"

A shiver ran down Rubina’s spine.

The next morning, Rubina challenged Shaheen.

— "Who are you?"

Shaheen froze. But he smiled after regaining himself in.

— "What are you saying?"

— "You are not my husband. Shaheedul never forgets the names of our children."

Shaheen also realized his actual identity had been revealed. But he wasn’t someone who would give up easily.

— "Please, if you don’t shut up, I will kill you too!"

Rubina wasn’t afraid. Instead, she calmly said,

— "Go ahead, but I’ve already called the police."

At that moment, the police knocked on the door.

Shaheen now sensed that he wasn’t getting away. His face turned pale.

The light he had hoped to stand in had now caught him.

at jail

Shaheen sat behind the thick bars of the jail, staring blankly.

He wished to step into the light, but the reality, was — darkness can never transform into light.

Thanks a lot ma'am @solperez for your valuable support.

Dear friend,

Your writing style has impressed me, I could see the scenes, Shaheen also had the same fate as any criminal should have.

Your story is good.

With best wishes.
