Hello to the community, I hope everyone is doing great!!

It's a new week, and as we celebrated the Sinhalese and Tamil New Year in this part of the world, first, I wish you all. It's me after a while joining the powerup contest by @jyoti-thelight. Due to some financial problems, I have to withdraw some Steems, and here I am back with the club status. So, why not join this important event once again?

As I said above, powering up is an essential thing for the long run of the community, and as individuals. What do you mean by that? You know, our rewards come as Steem Power and Steem in 50/50 percentages, if we haven't set them to 100% power up. So, converting the liquid steem we received into the staked/ powered state is known as this process. Eventhough the liquidity of this state is low, the effect and the benefits are very high.

So, now let's see how it's done, and why it should be done?

Well, believe me, this is one of the easiest moves. First, head to your wallet and log in with your posting key. It will look like below.

In front of the amount of steem you have, there is a drop-down menu. As below, you will see the power-up option, and then click it.

In the next window, we have to enter the required amount and then click the power up button. Provide the active key, and you are good to go. Within seconds, the process is done.

The importance of Power Up

Well, now to the last question. Why should we, and promote to promote this? Because it has many benefits for everyone.

First of all, the amount of Steem Power one has is a reflection of how committed and dedicated that person is to the platform. Many of us, including me, started from the bottom and swam through to this point. We build our account slowly, and it shows our long-term trust with the platform, increasing our reputation. And on the other hand, the big investors who took the risk and have sizeable steem power deserve the praise as well.

This is why some responsibilities like steem representative, curators, and moderators start with a minimum level of SP requirement.

On the other hand, the amount we have control over our influence on the platform in many ways. Our Voting power is proportional to our Steem Power. Just look at the amounts in Steem curator accounts and their voting values. So, the more the better. With that, we can support other good posts/ help to build up sustaining communities by delegation. In return, we received the curation rewards/ the benefits from those communities. And also, our influence on the witness votes gets bigger.
