"Uniqueness Of My Name"

Hey steemit lovers, welcome to my blog. I am excited to participate in this unique contest. I jumped right in the moment I saw it.

What is your full name and what does it mean?

I love my name alot and its meaning. My full name is Alexander Peace Obianuju. Alexander is my fathers name and it means defender of men or protector of mankind. It was gotten from the Greek word “Alexandros” which means to help or to defend.

I loved the meaning of the name and it was just a typical representation of my father. He was someone who was a helper to many and would stop at nothing to defend his loved ones. He was a very peaceful and loving man who was loved by all but was snatched from us by the cold hands of death 20 years ago. May his gentle soul continue to rest in peace.

My first name is Peace and like we all know the meaning of Peace. Peace is a state of calmness and tranquility usually characterized by the absence of violence, disturbance and conflict.

Everyone loves peace and prays for peace and I am an advocate of Peace. I love peaceful environments and would always go for peace.

My Middle name is Obianuju. It’s a native name of the Igbo tribe and dialect that means abundance. In literal meaning it means “I came in a time of wealth or abundance.” It’s a name given to depict a child that brought abundance to the family.

Why were you given this name or who gave it to you?, is there a story behind it?

Well yes, there is a story behind my name giving and the person that gave it. One of the days, my mum told me the story behind my name. She said that when they gave birth to me that things were really rough for her and my dad.

They had moved from the city back to the village when she was pregnant with me. It was in that time that I was given birth to. She said she named me patience but the Priest who was responsible for my dedication asked her to rename me Peace instead of patience.

So she had to obey the priest and gave me the name that the priest suggested. Hence it was the priest that named me. Instead of naming me according to the situation on ground, she decided to name me for the change that they are expecting. That was why she also named me abundance for my second name and Peace as my first name.

I am very satisfied with my names. The three names are very good names and are positively symbolic. I couldn’t have asked for better names. I love them and they fit perfectly.

Tell us about your username on Steemit is it same as your real name or is it different? Or how do you keep your that username on Steemit?

Well, because of how well I love my real names, I used them on steemit. My username is @alexanderpeace. It was a combination of my father’s name and my first name.

Hence my username is the same as my real name and I love its uniqueness. I know you like it too. Our names are a unique part of us and a representative of us. I am glad to participate in this beautiful contest that brings out this part of me. Thank you @ abdullahw2 for this beautiful contest.
