Kairav loved his mother very much but his wife and children used to run away from his mother because his mother did not have one eye and her back was also bent at 90 degrees. Although she used to do all her work herself, but still she always remained a nuisance for his wife and children.
One day some friends of Kairav's son were about to come, so he said to his grandmother, "Grandma, you go upstairs. Some of my friends are coming," said grandmother very lovingly, "but son, I am sitting very far away." No grandmother, you do not come in front of them, they all tease me, said the grandson loudly.
Then Kairav's wife called from the kitchen, "What happened son, why are you shouting?" The son said in a complaining tone, "Mother, grandmother is sitting here in the drawing room and my friends are coming." Kairav's wife took her son's side and said, "Mother, you go upstairs, why do you embarrass us."
The old mother quietly got up and started going upstairs with the help of the stairs. Due to her bent back, she was having some difficulty in climbing upstairs, but with all her strength she went and sat in the single room upstairs.
Kairav was sitting in the adjacent room and listening to everything. He was feeling very sad that his mother was being insulted, but if he said anything, his wife and children would start opposing him.
Secondly, his arguments also seemed right because he was an administrative officer, his social status was very high and his in-laws were also from a high family. Therefore, he always kept silently watching his mother being insulted.
At night, Kairav's wife said to Kairav, listen, yesterday the collector sahab's wife came and mother met her in her native tune. I was ashamed to tell them that she is my mother-in-law, that's why I said that she is a distant relative and has come here for treatment. Kairav felt like crying after hearing this, but still he remained silent.
He was not able to understand what to do. The mother knew her son's state of mind very well. She used to tolerate everything silently so that her son does not have any pain.
Her son had now started living in sadness. On one hand there was commitment to live at the family and social level and on the other hand there was mother.
Mother could not see this condition of her son. One day she said to her son, son it has been a long time, I want to go to my village, I am not feeling like here. Kairav said but there is no one there now who will take care of you, how will you live there. Kairav's wife took a deep breath and said hey, your uncle also lives there nearby and we will make all the arrangements.
Kairav knew that there is no one there to take care of his mother now, but due to his wife's insistence, he was forced to leave his mother in the village. While leaving his mother in the village, he was feeling like crying and was also angry at his helplessness, but the family, wife and society suppressed these feelings of his.
After a few days, he came to know that his uncle who lives in America is coming to India. When Kairav was very young, his father was also alive, he had come to India, after that he is going to come now.
The whole family and the neighborhood were very excited that Kairav's doctor uncle is coming from America. As soon as uncle stepped into the house, everyone welcomed him with great enthusiasm.
But uncle's eyes were searching for his sister-in-law. He excitedly asked Kairav, I can't see Bhabhi, where is Bhabhi. Kairav's wife replied that she is not feeling well here, she lives in the village. When uncle looked at Kairav, Kairav lowered his eyes.
Now doctor uncle understood everything and said that tomorrow we all will go to the village to meet Bhabhi. The next day everyone reached the village and on reaching there, they saw that the mother had a very high fever and she was lying on the bed.
Doctor uncle ran to his sister-in-law, touched her feet and started crying. This condition of her was beyond his imagination. And scolding Kairav, he said, wow son, you have exposed the name, you must be ashamed to see your mother's condition.
Scolding Kairav's wife also, he said, you do not like your mother-in-law's ugliness, you have to look down in the society, right? You know that the social level you are at today is the result of their struggles and son Kairav, you may not know that in your childhood when you were 1 year old, one of your eyes was ruptured due to falling from the roof and there was also a problem in the spine, then this ugly mother of yours gave you such a beautiful form by giving one of her eyes and her bone marrow.
You people have made this condition of this struggling woman who struggled for so many years to make her son an administrative officer, God will never forgive you and saying all this, tears came in the eyes of Doctor Uncle.
Hearing all this from Doctor Uncle, Kairav felt as if there is no one more sinful than him in this whole world. He ran and hugged his mother's feet. Maa my crime is unforgivable, I kept quiet intentionally and kept insulting you. Now only you will stay with me and no one else.
Kairav's wife was also feeling very remorseful but she did not have the courage to look into Maa's eyes. Understanding her daughter-in-law's state of mind, Maa called her to her while consoling her and scolding her son said, beware if you try to separate me from my daughter-in-law, I will throw you out of the house.
The daughter-in-law, son and grandson apologized for their behavior while falling at Maa's feet and Maa forgave everyone in her heart.
