Introduction

Every society pays attention to names given to their children because names have a lot of physical and spiritual meaning and implications for the bearer. That is why people don't just name their children casually, they take time to think about the name and its meaning before giving it to their children.

I know this because whenever we want to name our children, we don't just pick a name. After following our emotions, we have to pray concerning the name. Even in the Bible, it was said of Jesus that He was given a name above all.

What is your full name and what does it mean?

My name is Evelyn. That's my baptismal name according to Catholic doctrine, which means pleasant. I have a name given by my parents which is of Efik/Ibibio origin, Uduakobong. It means God's will. By interpretation, it means living, walking or operating in God's will.

Why were you given this name or who gave it to you?, is there a story behind it?

The first one, Evelyn, which I'm using as my official name, is my baptismal name. The name was given when I was baptised in the Catholic Church. I picked the name for myself because I saw it in a book. As a little girl then, I didn't know the meaning. It was later on I got to find the meaning of it as meaning pleasant.

For my birth given name by my parents, to them, I was God's will to them. I am not sure if there was any condition to the name I was given.

Are you satisfied that name or do you want to change it? If yes then which name you want to keep and why?

I love my name and I am very satisfied with the two names and won't want to change them for any reason because they both have reasonable meanings.

Tell us about your username on Steemit is it same as your real name or is it different? Or how do you keep your that username on Steemit?.

My username @eveetim is a combination of the first three letters of my name Evelyn and my surname Etim, making it eve-etim. Back in my school days, my friends and colleagues used to call me Eve, even till now, so I just added my surname to it.

This is wonderful and carefully crafted article, talking about names, people bear it for several reasons and circumstances that surround their birth,if I may look back in the scripture Benjamin was named benoni it was given by her mother because of pains that she went through, but the father Jacob later change it after knowing the meaning of the name to be bitterness.
