My good buddy Hima gave me a lovely cup as we were leaving university in 2013 after completing our master's degree. It was more than simply a cup; it held memories and strong feelings. With such affection she presented it to me and said "Keep this to remember me." That day I gave her a firm hug while experiencing both joy and sadness. Even though life went on I treasured that cup. It brought back memories of our heyday at university every time I glanced at it.

The cup remained silently in my cupboard for years. Unnoticed but containing a wealth of quiet memories it became a part of my hectic existence. I discovered that cup once more yesterday as we were finally cleaning the cupboard. A rush of old memories came flooding back as soon as I felt it in my hands. I was laughing chatting and dreaming with Hima just like I was at university.

I took a seat for a while grinning to myself while gripping the cup. I recalled all of our carefree fantasies together our countless tea hours and our study sessions. That little cup served as a link between me and the lovely past that I occasionally lose sight of in my hectic existence. I sincerely thanked Hima for bestowing upon me such a priceless gift. Like that cup in my cupboard certain relationships and memories endure forever even when people change and go on.
