Draw a picture of Bamboo Shoot

 

I have never seen bamboo shoot in reality and while checking in Internet I found these funy triangular shaped plants, seems that they are well knows in Asian countries. Without a special preparation they contain toxins and could be dangerous when consuming. That is why often it is used after fermentation, often it is boiled and then given spices like tumeric. In some countries it is boiled and kept for three days, the water of cause drained to remove the toxins. I believe with special way of preparation and also with different spices that also has a special taste.

For these contest, we have to draw an image of bamboo shoots. When I saw how they look like they were very simple and triangular shape. I believe just doing a pencil drawing it would be looking boring that is why I found my old gouache paints and decided to give these plants a bit of colour.

I thought to limit the colours, so my choice are red, yellow and blue with a little of brown and white, that I used to mix to create a bit of variation. At the end I love my final image and I hope you also like it.
