Butter cake is one of the easiest cakes that anyone can make and eat at any time. It is known for it's delicious and sweet taste. As the name implies, it features butter as it's most predominant ingredient and it's achieved by a combination of few ingredients like butter, flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder and vanilla.
Today, I prepared my own butter cake using the exact recipe that were are told to use by @m-fdo, the chef. I am going to share mine.
The ingredients I used are as listed below along with the accompanying pictures

The Preparation procedure

| in a clean bowel, I added the butter and sugar | whisked them thoroughly until well combined using my spoon as I don't have the whisking machine. But I surely did a great job. I also added the egg and whisked |

The next step was to sift in the flour mixture into the butter mixture and combine thoroughly until there is no lump and then I added vanilla and combine|

I took hold of the baking pan and greased it with butter, then transferred the batter into the pan

I preheated the oven and baked for 40 minutes, then poked the fork I to it and it came out clean. This shows that it is completely baked and ready for consumption.|

What difficulties did you encounter while making this recipe?
I must say that butter cake is the easiest with little or no challenge. However, I think I found it challenging whisking the butter and sugar as well as the egg in the batter. This is because the whisking was done manually and not electrically because I don't have the electric whisking machine. I had to whisk the mixture thoroughly because this is where the twist of cake making is. Any error at this stage will affect the whole outcome.
Functions of the different ingredients in the cake
Each of the ingredients in this cake has it's significance to be able to achieve great result when combined
The flour acts as an absorbing agent, taking in all other ingredients and making the cake to have a form or a structure. It also adds to the overall taste of the cake.
The egg provides moisture, helping the cake to have the required texture, flavour and stability. It is an essential ingredient in cakes
The butter helps the cake to have a tender texture, helps it to retain moisture, enhances flavour and promotes browning.
The sugar enhances sweetness majorly. It also helps to retain moisture and aids leavening among other things
Baking powder helps the cake to be fluffy, making it to achieve the desired lift instead of remaining dense, hence, giving the cake the desired texture.
Vanilla is for enhancement. It enhances flavour, balances sweetness and contributed to the texture of the cake

If the opportunity is given to me, I will like to eat this cake with @disconnect my friend. As a rat that is disconnected, nothing will hinder him from getting to my house as soon as he perceives the aroma of this cake. I am aware that he loves cakes too and will love to have a taste of this particular one I have made.
He is working so hard to gather all contests on the blog, I think he needs a little time off to chill out and enjoy. But my problem will be if he will even allow me to take a bite of the cake because he might as well run away with them to deposit them in his hole which is his blog as he keeps searching for contests.
Cakes can be an alternative to cheese to him. Am I right Disconnect? This will also afford me the opportunity to meet with the man behind the scene and then have time to ask how he is working so smart.
