Reportage vs spotted street

For the first time, I decided to put two different mood branches of the same genre in one post – street photography. Over the years, I've been writing about different street frequencies and showing pictures of one type or another.

I won't explain what street photography is – everyone already knows that it's a photo taken on the street in a public place, reflecting reality as it is.

A reportage street can reflect both weather conditions and the everyday life of a city.

Such images are often used in news agencies as illustrations on a particular topic.

Everything should be beautiful and aesthetically pleasing here, sometimes with a blurred background.

Usually a reportage street without any blackness, tin, dirt...well, or with the presence of these elements, but this is no longer a street, but just a report.

But there is a different mood (frequency, wave) of the street. I call it spotty or contrasting...it also can be languid or cosmic.

Here the picture is very often abstract, it does not have a specific plot.

There are a lot of piles of details, shadows and geometric elements.

Such images are rarely used for publications by news agencies and are underground.

Both are street photography – non-staged street stories that reflect reality.

The photos were taken on the same day.

First, I shot beautiful reportage pictures, and then I plunged into metaphysics.
