Hello! my readers. Yes you, hello to you. My presentation will be a bit different from the usual of how this contest questions should be answered. Don't blame me because I owe the freedom to @bonaventure24 and if I quoted him right in his words:

So let's get started by answering the questions below, you can add you own personal ideas as it's not mandatory to follow the hints, the most important thing is just to tell us about your unplanned.

In My Idea, It Gonna Be Story Of My Unplanned Journey Before Answers To Contest Questions

My reflection right now on the incidence I experienced is hitting me hard with a tough question I can't answer right now. I mean, what if someone had told me that I would not be in Uyo today, I would have dismissed it immediately.

In reality of my experience, something happened and a strange one. An unexpected event that sent a chill through my entire body and left me deeply unsettled.

Welcome To My Story

I will try as much as I can to be very detail. So, earlier that morning, I had arrived at the AKTC(Akwa Ibom Transport company) park with a small school backpack. Inside were a few food items that I hoped would last me a couple of weeks, due to high cost of food item in Nigeria it was necessary to go with snacks and in there was a file of documents I planned to submit to the court.

Sadly, I didn’t make it into the first bus and had to wait patiently for the next one to get filled before departure.

I noticed, there was a lady sitting towards the back of the vehicle and there was a space I could sit to lean my back. In description she was elegantly dressed and clearly waiting, just like me. On approaching, I found enough empty space next to her and quietly took my seat. I had a packet of biscuits in my hand, which was already halfway done lolz and it was crazy when I heard her mutter under her breath:

“How can someone look so presentable and still be this selfish?”

I didn't concerned because she wasn’t facing me directly when she said it, so I assumed she was speaking to herself and continued eating the last biscuit I had.

“Yes, I mean you. You, the young man sitting beside me. Very stingy,” she added, clicking her tongue slightly in disapproval.

She got me there and I laughed cause I couldn’t help it. I then stretched out the packet towards her, offering her what remained. Surprisingly, She refused politely.

“You just referred to me as stingy and now that I’m sharing with you, you don’t want it? Are we about to have a problem here?”

We both laughed this time and though she declined the biscuits, she explained that she was experiencing stomach discomfort which didn’t seem too serious at the time. I encouraged her to visit a pharmacy nearby since our vehicle wasn't ready to move yet and get some medication but she said she’d be fine. Sweat had begun to form on her forehead after short while and she looked quite uneasy.

In my thoughtful mind and trying to be concerned for her wellbeing I asked her “What did you eat this morning?” I have always been the type that feels disturbed when someone around me is in pain. She said she had attended a friend’s birthday celebration the night before in Ikot Ekpene but had not eaten anything all night until the next morning. She suspected the pain was from eating late.

At this point I gently opened the door of the bus so she could get fresh air as the vehicle was getting warmer as more passengers joined. Since she was sweating and seemed
uncomfortable, I offered to step out and get her a cold bottle of water. I wasn’t entirely sure it would help, but I felt compelled to do something.

But what I returned to see was nothing like I had imagined as my entire body was frozen and in shocked.

She had passed away!!!

First thought that ever came to my mind was "the same person I had spoken to just minutes earlier. She had been laughing, smiling even teasing and now, she is gone".*

Something Stroke Me And The Thought To Continue My Journey Changed To Journey Of The Mind. A Total Reflection On The Journey Beyond Our Soul

At this point, I could not bring myself to continue the journey. I stepped away from the bus and returned home. I couldn’t even bring myself to explain to my mother why I didn’t travel to Uyo as planned. This was was a heartbreaking experience for me and one I will never forget.

My Answers To Contest Questions

1 Have you ever gone on a journey that wasn't planned and came really urgent? If yes, tell us about the scenario.

In regards to unplanned journey, the answer is *Yes. I travelled urgently and without prior planning to Uyo to file a court case against individuals who had taken advantage of a business agreement I had with them and failed to keep to their own part of the deal. I had tried every means to resolve it peacefully, but they refused to cooperate, so I had no choice but to seek legal redress.
The scenario that played out has been read in the above story, was one along my unplanned journey. Maybe it would have been something different if I had made it to the court.

2 Tell us about your overall experience during the trip?

I am till today still analysing my experience on that very day. I mean, the experience turned out to be entirely different from what I expected and someone I met in a short while died. What started as a legal mission quickly became a deep emotional and spiritual journey. Truly, meeting that young woman and seeing how quickly life can be lost reminded me of how fragile existence truly is. It was the kind of moment that shifts my perspective entirely as I could not continue my unplanned journey to file for Court case.

3 Do you intend to ever go for any unplanned journey again?

Naturally, things do happened unplanned and in regards to that. I will say, Yes. I still will go
on with any unplanned journey, though risky, often carry the deepest life lessons. However, I would always move with caution and be emotionally prepared because that incident left a permanent mark on me which I cannot forget anytime soon.

4 Is it important to prepare very well before going for a journey? Tell us why

Absolutely Yes. it is extremely important to prepare well before going on any journey as proper preparation helps you anticipate emergencies and respond better to unexpected situations. For example, had it been the young lady had in her possession basic medication, perhaps this might have been a different story I would be writing about. Every journey planned or unplanned deserves some level of readiness.

There are basic things to look out for in unplanned journey which are

1 Security of where you are going

2 Timeframe of hours, days weeks and months to be spent

3 Availability of hotels in the vicinity and their reputation. Check their review online.

4 Keep communication with you love ones. This way, they get to know your state of well-being.

At the end of that day, the journey was no longer just about traveling to go file a lawsuit. It became a journey of deep personal reflection. The court case, although justified, began to feel insignificant compared to the weight of what I had just witnessed. What is the point of seeking justice if one may not live long enough to see it through?

Thought begin sinking in and I began to ask myself whether I was trying to use a failed business deal as an excuse to fight for something that might not even give me peace in the end. Was it truly about justice or was it about pride?

Truly, that moment reminded me that life is short and sometimes the people we meet, even for a brief moment are messengers sent to awaken our hearts to things that truly matter. That young lady, even in her final moments, changed how I view purpose and urgency.

Real-life journeys are often mirrors of the greater journey of the soul. We must all pay attention not just to the destination but to the meaning we gather along the way. Because at the end of it all, it is not about how far we travelled, but about how deeply we lived.
