Greetings dear friends of this great community. I salute you all from my mother land, #Nigeria. In this post, I want to share how I spent my day in the village even as I wind down my days of Easter holidays.

As I count down the days until my Easter holiday comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on the experiences I've had here in the village. I brought my two-and-a-half-year-old son, Princewill, along with me to spend the holidays and create some unforgettable memories.

With school set to resume on Monday, April 28th, 2025, I've been busy making sure everything is in order for our return to Uyo. Tomorrow, Sunday, April 27th, we'll be traveling back, and I want to make sure I'm well-prepared to dive back into my teaching duties.

Today, I decided to use my time wisely and help my mother with weeding the farm. I woke up early, and to my surprise, Princewill insisted on joining me. His niece, Unwana, also wanted to come along, and I couldn't resist taking them with me. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to teach them about our culture and the value of hard work, even at their young age.

As we worked on the farm, the sun beat down on us, and the task was indeed hectic. However, with the help of my two young companions, we managed to get the weeding done. I was proud of them for their enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

After a long day's work, we returned home, exhausted but fulfilled. I still had to find the energy to prepare dinner, and I'm glad I did. We enjoyed a delicious meal of fufu and Afang soup, which was the perfect way to cap off a hectic but rewarding day.

As I look back on my time here in the village, I'm grateful for the experiences I've had and the memories I've created with my son and family. I'm now ready to return to my teaching duties, refreshed and rejuvenated, with a newfound appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into farming and providing for one's family.
