Why musing is powering down?

I'm not citing facts here or anything but a lot of the bigger accounts on Steemit are powering down lately. It's likely because the price of Steem has dropped so low that people need to pay out for expenses associated with business operations. I think that some faith in Steem has decreased as well. Aren't payouts only happening in SP right now, too? It would seem to me that you have to power down if you want to take out any profit when you are only being paid for posts via SP.
