Universal hired Gareth Dannett Alcoser to write a new version of the script for the remake of "Scarface", reports The Wrap. The director of the project plans to occupy Antoine Fukua.
The main role in "Scarface" has been for more than a year assigned to Diego Luna, however, due to changes in the schedule of shooting and the cancellation of the original release date, his participation in the film is in question.
The picture is a rethinking of the classic history of an immigrant gangster, which was told in 1932 and 1983. This time, the action plot will unfold in Los Angeles, and the focus will be a native of Mexico.
Previous versions of the script were created by the brothers Ethan and Joel Cohen, Terence Winter, Jonathan Herman and David Eyer, who also claimed the director.
