A day in the life : Day 201

The rain was pretty relentless today. Not a dramatic thunderstorm, just a steady, persistent drizzle that made everything feel a little…grey. Which, honestly, kind of suited the mood. I woke up later than usual, which was nice. No frantic rush to get going. Coffee was essential, obviously, and I actually took the time to make it properly – French press and everything.

Spent a good chunk of the morning working on a writing project. It’s been slow going, a bit of a creative block, so I was mostly just editing and rearranging things. Sometimes just looking at the words differently can help. I took a break to walk the dog – he didn't mind the rain at all, obviously. Muddy paws were involved.

Lunch was soup and a grilled cheese. Comfort food at its finest. Then, because I was feeling slightly stir-crazy, I decided to tackle a small DIY project. Repotting some houseplants. It’s surprisingly satisfying getting your hands dirty and giving something a little life boost.

The afternoon was mostly dedicated to catching up on emails and doing some online grocery shopping. Adulting, you know? Not glamorous, but necessary.

In the evening, I tried a new recipe for dinner – a lentil curry. It turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. I ended up watching an old movie – something light and funny – and just… relaxing.

It wasn't a particularly exciting day, but it was cozy and peaceful. Sometimes those are the best kinds of days. Just letting yourself slow down and recharge.
