Afternoon everyone ….
It’s been a very busy week with several curve balls thrown my way. The curve balls weren’t work related, they were mom related. I don’t want to really talk about it at the moment, but it could be something pretty serious.
I got done early on the job today, so I’ve been catching up on my e-mails. I came across this one which I have already placed my order.
It’s the next in the Legendary Warriors series by the Silvertowne Mint. The latest release is LEONIDAS. If you don’t know who he is..
Here is some info:
Step into history with the 1 oz Leonidas Silver Round—an homage to one of the most legendary warriors in ancient history. This .999 fine silver round pays tribute to King Leonidas I of Sparta, celebrated for his valiant stand with 300 Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae.
Leonidas I (/liəˈnaɪdəs, -dæs/; Ancient Greek: Λεωνίδας, Leōnídas; born c. 540 BC; died 11 August 480 BC) was king of the Ancient Greek city-state of Sparta. He was the son of king Anaxandridas II and the 17thking of the Agiad dynasty, a Spartan royal house which claimed descent from the mythical demigod Heracles. Leonidas I ascended to the throne in c. 489 BC, succeeding his half-brother king Cleomenes I. He ruled jointly along with king Leotychidas until his death in 480 BC, when he was succeeded by his son, Pleistarchus.
He was a total badass….
This series has been fantastic so far. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Here is the round….
