I can kinda see how the VR experience would actually help you learn a musical instrument, but there's obviously no substitute for the physical connection needed to learn properly.

However, as long as the 3D modelling is accurate, I'd imagine that playing an instrument in VR would have some benefit in learning the real instrument. Muscle memory is built up by the process, so (as long as it's accurate), it can help (I think(.

I'm not a musician, or a music instructor, and either might rip my opinions to shreds, but hey-ho, at the very least, it looks amazing fun, and you may be tempted into actually learning music in the real world.
