The mirage of Steemians interaction: I am still waiting for comments 😞

in steemian β€’Β  8 years agoΒ

The previous post got 18 votes but just 3 steemians commenting (Again thanks you).
The post before that 96 votes and 0 comment!!!
Is it a lost cause to have more interactions?
Should I just give up? I am not even mentioning the views count as it is much more depressing.
Anyway... I am just going to hardfork 😝

Steemit is slowly getting more popular. We have an incentive here, on the internet, naturally bots will be a major part of it. Views are low because the steemit population is low. We are increasing, and will probably increase as the price increases.

I hope so. I mean being popular is nice but if I could be popular for the good reasons, that would be awesome.

What would you like to talk about?

life 😎 .

Hi, @jyezie!

I don't write for whales, bots... I write for people. I want my words to be a bridge to my feelings. Will you join me?

I'm with you on that. Following you now, looking forward to your comments.

Comments and replies are how I "talk" with my favorite readers... Thank you for addressing this topic! ;)

That remind me of @mindhunter. He was #1 on comments in front of all the bots, which was very impressive. I will check your work too.

Merci 😎 . I have a feeling we spoke before, although I am not sure at all.

Perhaps if you had something more to say in your post to engage with. I can get very few comments too. Since they added views I do tend to see far more up-votes for my content than people that actually VIEW it. So some people vote just because I've been here and they know me. Some people up vote based upon just the initial line of text without reading or viewing the article.

I am starting to lean with some people that perhaps Curation rewards need to be changed. Make them worth far less and perhaps always a fixed small amount. For as they are now there are people that have enough steem power that really all they do is vote on posts they are fairly certain will do well so they can maximize their curation rewards. Some of those people rarely comment.

well I have two accounts here, @jyezie and @cryptohazard. In both I am almost at 400 posts. I got a few +100 posts but even counting the two I didn't got +20 single people commenting. I feel like some artist in the court of some king, paid to make my art. My point is I have no idea how many people actually read what I write. Even assuming everyone has 5 accounts, that's still way too much. I did try different approaches from game/contest to story where people can join me and write with me. Luckily I found some small community where there are interactions. If no one comments, I won't know what they felt when they read my words.

I was involved in a writing game months ago and really only 4 people (including myself) engaged in it.

I've had posts I thought were great and would get a lot of responses and gotten nothing. I've had others that I didn't think would get much of a reaction that had extensive reactions.

I will say now that it shows views I think we'll be able to get a better idea of how many people actually read it. If you get 100+ up votes but it only says 10 people viewed your post then that is a pretty telling number. That means 90% were people just up voting without reading.

I made a post like that once: pretty picture, false advertising title, nice first line, and the rest just about how no one would read the rest of the post. I actually got some comments, the blessing of not being know. Now I am pretty sure that if I do so, a bandwagon of curators will just upvote and if I am lucky i will get some comments. I guess i could do the experiment.

It's important to get out into the community and post comments, interact and find your people. It doesn't happen overnight. A good practice is also responding to every comment on your posts too.

Also taking the time to comment on most of the posts I read. I value comments more than the votes.

I just read your post but only because I haven't come across your posts before.. I always like to leave a comment :0)
