Insert images by dragging & dropping, pasting from the clipboard, or by selecting them. does not work either

Since day one I have trouble with adding images to steemit posts

I have seen a lot of options and i tried them all.

There was a wysiwyg option that worked for me once but that was buggy with the markup. But at least that allowed to use image URL's. However that one did not allow uploading images.

And that also messed up the iframe inclusion of non-youtube video's

Right now using FireFox 57.0.4 on a widespread non-commercial OS.

I shortly see in red:
Image upload: Unable to contact server

!(URL) sometimes works other times displays a broken image icon thingy

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
