Steemit Update [March 3rd, 2025] : Steemit Learning Challenge Season 23 - Week 3

in steemit •  2 months ago

This week we move onto Week 3 of Season 23 of the Steemit Learning Challenge.

Season 23 has seen the introduction of the Steemit Learning Clubs.

The Clubs are a first experiment to help curb the use of AI that was becoming ever more prevalent during Season 22.

We will be watching keenly to see how they progress.

Steemit Learning Challenge - Season 23

Here are the Teaching Team lessons and assignments for Week 3 of Season 23…

These courses and challenges will run from today until 11.59pm UTC, on Sunday, March 9th, 2025.

You are free to enter as many as you want.

The more you participate in, the more chances you will have of getting votes from sc01 & sc02.

Steemit Learning Challenge Rewards

The Teaching Teams must ensure they promptly check and comment on all assignment posts.

The comments from the Teaching Teams should concentrate on what the student did well in their post, and also most importantly how they could improve their posts - particularly highlighting if they have misunderstood any of the learning points of that week’s course assignment.

The posts should be awarded a grade marked out of 10 according to how well they have completed the assignment tasks. We very much encourage teachers to design their homework assignments with a sufficient level of difficulty that they will be able to award a good spread of grades and not have everyone bunched up with 9’s and 10’s.

Posts should be checked for plagiarism and AI use but that should only be a footnote in the comment. Checking for club status etc does not need to be included in the comment.

The comments will be rewarded by sc01/02 according to how well they have followed these guidelines.

At the end of each week all Teaching Teams should make a post announcing the four people who have produced the best challenge responses or homework assignments.

All the Season 23 weekly winners, as well as the announcement posts, will receive extra prize votes from @steemcurator01.

Steemit Learning Clubs

This season sees the introduction of the first three Learning Clubs.

These are quite experimental and we will be exploring how they work during the coming weeks.

They offer exciting possibilities to develop your own projects guided by experts.

We strongly encourage people to get involved with the clubs…

The Learning Clubs will also be selecting their four best posts of the week for prize votes from sc01.

We are very excited for this new season of the Learning Challenge.

There is again a good range of courses to follow.

The introduction of the Learning Clubs we hope will encourage even more people to get involved.

We look forward to following the development and progress of this new experiment in learning on Steem.

Thank you

The Steemit Team

sounds cool, I’ll surely check it out and most likely participate in two or three courses. Is it possible to submit suggestions for future courses, or is everything already planned long-term?

Applications for the next season will be invited in 2 or 3 weeks time.

All ideas for courses will be welcome.

Yes, its a nice way to learn

Very nice. I'm keeping an eye on almost everything this season, but I welcome two challenges that I'm joining again and again. Even if I can show success in one, it's very difficult to raise the number in the other.

Last time I applied to be a teacher where my subject was learning about textiles, but there was something wrong in my title. Basically, my subject to teach was learning about textile raw materials.See you again next season, InshaAllah, about textile raw materials in the application post.

It's an interesting move.

At the beginning of Steemit, the common enemy that we fought with the community at that time was plagiarism. For scientific articles that require citations from experts and previous research, there is a tolerance on a certain scale, for example in some universities a maximum of 30 percent, with clear sources.

At that time, in addition to detecting plagiarism with bots carried out by several accounts, there were also manual patrols carried out by Steemians. I don't know if this practice still exists today. All Steemians should be responsible for producing plagiarism-free works (please distinguish plagiarism from repetition of posts which are also often done).

Now, the enemy of creativity and the sanctity of posts has increased again, namely with the birth of AI. Artificial intelligence should only be used as a tool that is read briefly, but cannot always be used as a reference, either a little or even all of it. In the early days of AI, I had time to make a post about it and criticized the accuracy of the information provided by the AI machine, most of which was wrong.

Future attention should remain focused on quality posts and the results of human brain creativity, not machines. I regret that many quality posts do not get the rewards they deserve because the content creators are not yet known to be close to the curators. Collusion practices like this are just as dangerous as plagiarism and AI that does not respect creativity, purity of work, and quality.

Let's maintain the quality of this beloved platform with great works.
