Tree Tuesday @old-guy-photos

My tree selection for today is this little bonsai forest that I saw at the Botanical Garden in Asheville, North Carolina. I am always quite astonished by people's abilities to minimize nature and showcase it in this art form!

This week's Shadow Contest is hosted and will be judged by @shasta. Remember to look for shadows- two days left to enter!

beautiful to decorate a desk or a room.

It certainly would be! I can't even imagine how hard Abd how long it would take to grow something like that!

Nice

Thanks

That is a stunning piece. I once tried that with red maple seedlings too many times to count.... killed them all. It truly is an art and takes great patience.

I need much simpler growing challenges! I just bought an African violet and some succulents and feel like I am stretching my plant growing efforts!

Well at least you bought ones that don't like a lot of watering. lol I over watered my violets and always killed them. They prefer to suck up the water from the bottom instead of top watering. Succulents really like to dry out a lot before the next one. My neighbor has tons of different kinds that she grows every year.

Does she leave her succulents outdoors, or bring them in for the winter? I have a lot to learn, I think! Thank goodness I have plant expert friends here willing to help!

she brings them all inside for the winter, then she puts them in my greenhouse to get them acclimated to the outside lighting before they are out for the summer. I will take photos and post some for you soon.

Oh good. I'd love tips on winter indoor care, too. I have an assortment of 15 arriving this week! Can't wait to see your photos.

Truly a piece of art that I am totally incapable of doing. Looks so simple, doesn't it? Or is it just me perhaps? LOL

Such a lovely shot! Happy #TreeTuesday!

Tip!

I think it must take skill and patience! I've read a little about it and determined that my thumb is not nearly green enough!

Love

Thanks, sweetie! I love bonsai and admire the effort!

As do I, They are cool for sure. Trees are all special in my world.

Love

That is a great capture. Love the miniature and the pattern in the concrete behind it as well acting as a rising sun or moon:) A great #treetuesday

Thanks, Pryde! It was fun to see the exhibit. I'm wishing I would have taken more photos...they were all so lovely!

Simple beauty. I love how the background brings it all together...grounds the display, if you will. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for coming by! The background was just a concrete wall. I added the filter to create a 'frame' for the trees. I'm glad you like it!

Aha! Great choice!!!

Wow! That's like a full grown forest tree... I wouldn't have known it's a miniature if you didn't say it!

They do an amazing job with them. True artists!

They're amazing. I love these little trees very much. Such original and bizarre shapes :). A great choice for the Tuesday Tree.

Thanks so much, my friend! It must take so much time to get them this perfect.

Nice. Wow its been a while since I been to Asheville!

Time for a road trip! (It's been a while for me, too!)
