Steemit Learning Challenge S24/W3 : Ribbon Cake

Assalamu Alaikum


Thanks to the organizer @m-fdo of the Steamit Engagement Challenge S24/W3.And to provide us with a learning baking course subject and so I also wanted to make a Ribbon cake following every step given in this recipe.

✅1 . Make the given recipe in detail with step by step pictures. Include your name tag with the date at the final presentation of the recipe.

So I will complete the process of making Ribbon Cake step by step by step with the ideas of making the cake in the challenge to complete the knowledge of making this cake.
All the ingredients needed to make Ribbon Cake are:

Flour150 gm
Sugar150g
Butter150 g
Eggs3
Vanilla1 ¼ tsp
Baking powder1 tsp
Color Red, Green2 drops
Vanilla1 ¼ tsp
Baking powder1 tsp
Color Red, Green2 drops

Step 1


In the first step, I packed every ingredient in the cake and took the butter out of the fridge and put it in the room temperature. At this stage, I measured each 150 grams of flour , sugar and butter using a measuring scale and set it aside.

At this stage, I will take butter in a bowl and bit it lightly with a beater machine, then step by step, beat the whole mixture with sugar and make the mixture of sugar and butter into a fluffy texture.

Step 2


Now at this stage I will break three eggs first with one and then two more eggs and beat them for two minutes at high speed then one by one with baking powder, vanilla for another minute.

Step 3


Now at this stage the dough should be pressed with a sieve and gently mixed with a specula and placed on aside .

Preheat the oven for 10 minutes and on the other hand brush the oil on the baking tray and spread the flour, and shake off the extra flour.

Step 4


Now divide the cake making better into two parts and mix green and red colors. Then let it bake for 40 minutes at 175 °C. After 40 minutes I'll check with a toothpick to see if the cake bakes well.Then put the cake in a room temperature and put the cake in the refrigerator to cool completely.

Step 5


Now take the butter in a bowl and take a minute of light bits with the vitamin machine then step by step mix a little powder sugar and beat it at high speed to make a butter and sugar mixture turn into a light fluffy texture.

And now take the cake out of the fridge and separate it from the baking bowl.First cut the black part on the top of the green cake and then I'll spray the butter mixture well and put the red cake on the green cake mixture and press it lightly. This is how my ribbon cake is made and I'll cut it into different sizes to eat.

✅2 . What difficulties did you encounter while making this recipe?

Cake is my kids' favorite, I sometimes make cakes.I didn't have to face any problem in making someone in the initial stage. The color mixing of the cake is so beautiful, the color combination is so beautiful as to make the perfect two cakes. I often make cake. But I've never made ribbon cake.First time I made this cake.

Besides, I didn't even have icing sugar to use this cake.So I first blended sugars well in blender jar to make white powder sugar.Then I mixed it slowly with the butter as if to create a fluffy texture. After making butter frosting really became such a nice foamy texture that I didn't need icing sugar anymore.


✅3 . Explain the importance of the ingredients you used in making this cake.

  • Flour -The basic ingredient in cake making is cake flour, soft, fluffy, made into a smooth texture and cake flour is very useful for baked products, as it forms the basic structure of cake making.First of all, flour is a very essential ingredient in making cakes.The cake dough contains less gluten, very little protein content that helps turn into a moist, delicate, soft fluffy texture.

  • Sugar -Dessert item to bring the sweetness of the cake, cake is delicious, sugar is added to the cake to make it edible, but using the right amount of sugar can enhance the taste of the cake.
    Sugar plays an important role in cake making as sugar retains the cake water and helps reduce gluten development. This sugar, helps keep the cake moist. And sugar-free cakes dry quickly, which are dry to eat and not tasty at all.

  • Butter-Cakes made with a sudden are very tasty to eat, in soft fluffy texture and add good flavor. Butter, provides the cake with moisture, tenderness and and richness structure.As a result, Cake More Delicia More moisturizes.Using cake butter helps the cake swell effectively.

  • Egg -Cakes made with Egg are very tasty to eat and add good flavor. Egg provides the cake with tenderness and soft, fluffy texture and moisture richness of the cake, and balances the cake by acting as an egg binder, which plays a very important role for a successful cake batter and helps hold the other ingredients used in the cake together. Cakes made with eggs are very tasty and taste and enrich.

  • Baking powder-Flour usually doesn't contain extra ingredients especially rising agents.Making cakes using this type of dough often causes the cake to harden and the cake doesn't swell well.So to make a cake soft, fluffy texture one has to use a rising agent with flour such as baking powder in quantity, and the cake made with baking powder looks soft, spongy and and swells an easy.

  • Vanilla Essence -Cake, we usually use vanilla essence to add flavor.Vanilla Essence has its own aroma that fills the whole cake with its flavor, that feels very flavorful delicious cake to eat.Also, eating a cake without vanilla essence gives you an egg smell that doesn't feel good to eat at all.Vanilla-free cake tastes boring.So vanilla essence is very important to give a cake a soft ,fluffy texture and add very nice aroma and maintain the moisture content of the cake.

  • Icing sugar-icing sugar is refined sugar with fine grains like powder, sugar-like sweetener powdered sugar.It dissolves easily to make cakes or any cookies by bringing glaze to the pastry, giving the cake filling a fine texture and using icing sugar for fine texture.
    Sometimes butter cream is fostered instead of whipped cream.In this case cake frosting is done using icing sugar with butter and butter frosting cake is very tasty.

  • Color combination is an important factor in any food coloring because any colorful thing becomes quite attractive and a combination of two to three colors makes a cake attractive and beautiful to look at and takes colors that make it tempting to eat cake and increasing the demand for eating.
