Voting bot in Steemit is a bid that has been programmed to vote on the post of those that have delegated or are willing to be sending their Steem or SDB in return for upvotes. Most users do delegate to the bid bot to get a portion of upvotes immediately dropping their post.
Once you have delegated your steel power to the bid bot, the bot will automatically upvote your post with an upvote that is proportional to the amount of steem power that you delegated.
How does a voting bot work on Steemit
The voting bot works on Steemit after a user has delegated his/her steel power to the bot service. The bit voting bot is automatically programmed to be voting on the post of anyone that has been delegated to the service. Some are programmed to be voting on post that is less than 20 minutes, whereas some are programmed to be voting on the post of the user every 24 hours.
The voting bot on Steemit works automatically based on how it is programmed without the control of anyone. Once you have delegated to the bot the person in charge will automatically add you to the bot and assign a portion of upvotes to you. There is no limit of words when a user delegates to a bot. A bot does not read one post, but it automatically votes on one post.
Is it worth using the bid bots to get upvotes in Steemit?
No, it's not worth using bid bots to get upvotes in Steemit because Steemit is a Proof of Brain (POB) platform and not a bid bots platform. The use of bid bots will make one not write original content and no one would be interested in reading content on Steemit since it's not original.
The use of bid bots in voting would make Steemit less important to those that don't have money to hire a bid bot that will be voting on their post.
Why are posts with bid-bot upvotes still downvoted on Steemit and why does Steemit still punish its users for upvoting with bots
The reason why posts with bid bot upvote still get downvoted on Steemit is that the Steemit team is against the use of bid bots. There is no point for SC01, SC09 and as well Booming to be voting on users that are operating on bidbot.
Another reason is that most of the posts are of low quality to be voted on. Once you are into Bid-bot, you will no longer focus on proof brain in writing your post because you believe that no matter what you post will be voted by Bid-bot which isn't good.

The thing that Steemit does to combat bid-bot accounts is how Steemit has stopped supporting accounts that are into bid-bot. The Steemit team stopped supporting accounts that are into bid-bots which is a way of discouraging people to go into bid-bots.
Another way is how the Steemit team stopped giving accounts with bid-bots positions like community curator, Steem representative, and so on. Once you have joined bid-bots the Steemit Team will stop supporting you.

This single line is a lot because in a simple line you you told us a very late meaning and it means that the more you will delegate to the bot the more it will provide you good services means the more you would enhance the chances to getting support from it either you are creating a high quality content or either you are creating the low quality content.
There should be penalty or punishment for all those who are breaking or not following the rules of a particular platform so it is considered illegal to use such kind of services that's why they are not supported at the platform also so there are different means to this courage them in the form of downvoting and in the form of decreasing their reputation and many more other means are available to discourage bot users.

Yes, it's right. Actually, the Steemit team is doing their best to stop the users from using the voting bot service because this is against the Proof of Brain, as well as, this thing disturbs the distribution of the rewards pool of the platform. They stop selecting the bot users on the key roles and thus they discourage them and always recommend users to do organic engagement.
