Step-by-step process of making my chocolate cake

Step1
I sifted to break or remove any lump and mixed all my dried ingredients together with a spatula to incorporate them all together. After that, I put on my oven for a preheat, while I moved on to the next step.

Step 2

Step3

Step 4
I transferred my creamed mixture first into a bigger bowl added the dry mixtures into the same bowl, and whisked both together until properly combined; after that, I transferred it to my pan and placed it into my pre-heated oven and allowed it to bake for about 40 minutes.

Step 5

I brought the cake out of the oven allowed it to cool for a few minutes, and got it out of the pan, and this is my final result.

Is this your first time making a chocolate cake? Or have you made a chocolate cake before? (Minimum 100 words)

Yes, it's my first time. I have always bought chocolate cakes for my loved ones who like them, but I have not tried making them before because I don't really like chocolate cakes. But with the teaching, I see it quite easier than I thought and needs some carefulness for your cake to taste nice, my experience with this gave me a better understanding of how it been made because there was a stage I over did which altered the whole process and I have to start all over before I could get it right although i got discouraged at some point to try again i am glad i did it and it came out nice.

Explain the importance of the cocoa powder/chocolate powder used in the cake. Also, why do you use less cocoa powder than flour?

Cocoa powder/chocolate powder is a major ingredient in making the chocolate cake as it gives it that brownish chocolate colour and look because, without the Cocoa powder, the cake will have a usual cake look.

Cocoa powder gives a chocolate flavour to the cake; the taste of chocolate powder creates an equal taste with other ingredients used, giving a rich chocolate flavour and texture.

Also, I used less cocoa powder than flour to avoid having a bitter taste cake because Cocoa powder has a strong taste that can suppress other flavours or tastes if not used in lesser quantities. Another reason is for the cake not coming out dried because I noticed cocoa powder soaked up more moisture in the mixture.
