Over the years, humans are faced with choices in almost everything they do and that is where decision making comes in. We make decisions both in trivial matters and in big matters. Hence, making a choice to prefer either fairly used or brand new items is not left out. It is a decision we must make because we make use of these things from time to time.
The urge to always make a clear dichotomy between this duo has remained controversial, but a little experience would do it each time I found myself. I have found myself dealing with this use-case brand given the importance each of them plays at different times. Let's get to work as I present my views using the stipulated guidelines.
What do you understand by both terms (fairly used / Brand new product) |
---|
Each time the word fairly used products is mentioned, it is likened to be synonymous with developing and underdeveloped countries. But this isn't the case most times, given the less presence of key manufacturing factories in the region and the proliferation of sub-standard products that paved the way for the value-added, fairly used brands.
Fairly products that products that have been and are not necessarily in their new shelf lives. They have been detached from the new brand seal that guarantees warranty plans and other new user benefits. In simple terms, products that have been used with mostly viable lifespan and condition.
This may be recognizable through its wear-and-tear looks and low pricing scheme when compared with the brand new counterparts. However, the quality of the product is dependent on the previous users and varies over maintenance status. It is one way humans have promoted the reuse of items and recycling.
On the other hand, "New Products" simply represent the opposite of the description given above for fairly used items. Items under this category haven't been used before with users experiencing first-time usage experience. The first user of this item is liable to enjoy manufacturer's benefits like product warranties and. other sales drive benefits. Though more expensive than fairly used items, it is worth the buy and use.
Have you ever found yourself struggling to make this decision, If so, What did you go for? |
---|
Like I mentioned earlier, this choice product is commonly found on this side of the continent. In most cases, we have preferred the fairly used items to the brand-new items, given their quality. Most of the so-called fairly used brands seem of greater quality given their original country of use compared to African market products that see their new items as questionable.
I have been found deciding what product to choose in certain situations. While fixing my car, I queried the serviceman on his choice of asking to get a particular brand type either new or fairly used. Everything has been equal, anyone would prefer a brand new item while fixing a car, but this isn't entirely true here due to the proliferation of substandard new items in the market.
This has made the use of fairly-use items more valuable, given their quality and longevity during use compared to their new brand counterparts. This also has been observed in thrift wear (commonly called Hokitika or OK wear). The first-grade wear is of great quality and has a little tear and wear use-case.
Why did you go for a fairly used brand-new item after careful considerations |
---|
I went for either of the two depending on what I was to fix at that particular time. I'm using the car fixing scenario as an example. There are car parts the serviceman told me to particularly use; at first, I ignored him and got the new product type. But this didn't end well as I came back to him in a space of one month to fix the same issue.
Consequently, I had to stick to the fairly used brands for the best service delivery. This wasn't relatively cheaper than the newbarnd given the fact it was already used item, but the quality therein has placed an unprecedented value for the item.
Was there any regret for the choice you made? |
---|
At first, I had regrets about making the wrong decision that prompted double spending on a single issue. This was me going contrary to what the serviceman postulated for each part he wanted a change. All my mistakes were choosing the new brand car part item over fairly used parts.
Though there are parts he also listed I should get them in their new brands, but others remain largely on fairly used brands. I learned my lessons after spending on the other divide.
Thank you...

The truth remains that some items are best if they are fairly used than brand new due to the points you mentioned above about underdeveloped and developing countries. Yes, lack of the basics in terms of technology and machineries needed to provide most of these items make them impossible to get the best when it comes to new items due to imitations and when you are able to see the original in new brands, they because unaffordable for people like us.
You made your mistakes and then you have learnt your lessons. Success in your entry

MOD Comment/Recommendation:
Though I've not experienced what fairly used products are like or how better they are than new products in some cases, your explanation says it all. But it all depends on the product involved. Just like using a brand new or fairly used phone. Thanks for sharing Sir. Experience is the best teacher as you've narrated.
