My Relationship with Sleep

Hello friends and welcome to my article. I appreciate @abdullahw2 for such an interesting topic and I would be dropping my thoughts immediately.


How many hours of sleep do you actually get each night and do you think it's enough

On a normal day or an average of about 7-8 hours of sleep. It is actually the time of refreshment. Sleep is quite an interesting factor in body wellness and development. As kids we were advised to sleep more often than not and most definitely. It is our passport to good living. I do not play with my sleeping routine as it is very important to me too.


Do you follow any sleep routine (like reading, meditation, avoiding screens)

Most definitely I follow sleep routine asw a young adult, in order to sleep properly, I make it a point of duty to start by eating properly. Good dieting is my passport to good sleep. I don't skip my meals and that has helped me in having a sound sleep. Whenever I'm hungry it is really a difficult time because restlessness follows suit and my sleeping habit is at risk.

Moreso, my sleeping space is always body friendly. I try as much as possible to sleep in well ventilated environment. I do not forget to keep my fan turned on and also comfortable bed sheets is another secret. It makes me feel relaxed before sleeping too.

Importantly, my state of mind before sleeping is always top notch. I make it a point of duty to always play my favorite genre of music Slow blues to channel my mind to having good rest. This helps me alot and I must point out it's importance too.


What disturbs your sleep the most. ( noise, stress, mobile, late-night eating)

I must say noise is a big hazard to me against good sleep. I try as much as possible to stay away from noise pollution. It affects me negatively as regarding my sleeping habit. It is a big disturbance to me sleep and I avoid it the most of times.

Furthermore, hunger is really something I can't deal with whenever I'm hungry I find it difficult to catch sleep, therefore I try as much as possible to wear well before having my rest or sleep as the case maybe. I must eat well to sleep well undisturbed too.

Negative Impact of Lack of Sleep


Poor cognitive Function: When you lack your sleep your brain function starts deteriorating, you find it difficult at optimum level, your efficiency level in performance as humans being is reduced to a reasonable extent too.

Stress: You tend to develop stress when it is denied, it causes stress and in most cases you develop illnesses of some sort. In my case I develop headaches which remains persistent and eyes dripping tears at will up until I sleep properly.


Positive Impact of Sleep


Body Wellness: You body is efficiently relaxed and tend to more alive in some way and energised definitely sleep improves body wellness to a reasonable extent.

Stress Drain: Sleep in one way or the other drains stress, keeping you revitalised and ready to perform perfectly as a person without stressit is a tonic to draining stress.

Growth and Vitality: Growing children requires sleep for growth and vitality. It cushions the effect of body illness and develops young kids, making them to obtain maximum vitality too.
