The people that come into your life will serve for one of the two reasons as it regards to you dream - they will either help you to actualize it or they will prevent you from doing it. A lot of people have been lifted by the people surrounding them, and some others have also been brought down by the people surrounding them. This is why you need to know the difference between the people who will help build your dreams and those that are out to prevent it from seeing the light of the day. Here we shall be taking a look at the ways to spot the difference in both.

Just to let you know, dream builders will believe in you and in your dreams even when you begin to doubt yourself. That is, they will see the hidden potentials in you and then help you to realise it. These people may even be among your family members, friends, loved ones, mentors, etc. However, dream killers will doubt you and your abilities, criticise your ideas, make you to believe that you are less or that you cannot achieve what you want to, and may even try to make you feel that your dreams are impossible. This might be because they are jealous of what you may become or they are envious of you, so they want to instill fear into you to make you abandon your dream. Just to let you know, this can also be from within your so-called friends, family, etc. They may not even be very open with it, but they may come subtly, maybe making it to appear like they are trying to prevent you from failure. So let us take a look at how to spot them, but first we will look at how to know dream builders.

A dream builder will listen to you without judging or talking negatively about your dreams. When you share an idea with them or your dreams, even if it may look unclear, they will still give listening ears to you. Not only will they listen to you, they will also believe in your dreams and will motivate you with their words; like "you got this," "you can do it," "keep going." But a dream killer will doubt your dream even if it looks so mind-blowing. They will bring in negative words like; "are you sure you can do this?" "a lot of people have failed at it," "it cannot be done." When people tell you that, then you should know that they do not have your success in mind and you should stay clear from them.

Another way to know a dream builder is that they will offer to you constructive feedback that will help you to grow and will also become important to the actualization of your dreams. That is, they will give you advice and assistance on how to become better, and will also help you to grow. However, when someone begins to talk down on your dreams or will mock the progresses you are making, then you need to be careful around them. This is because they may not want you to grow. Or even if they want you to grow, but not up to their own level of growth, so beware.

To also know a dream builder, you have to look at the one who sincerely celebrates your little wins no matter how insignificant they may look in the eyes of others. That is, when you achieve a level of success, they will be genuinely happy for you and even wish you more wins. But a dream killer will never celebrate your progress. They may even want to undermine the progresses that you are making. If you are close with someone who will always come around to condole you when bad things happen to you, but they will never come to celebrate with you when you succeed, then you should stay clear from them. This is because they are only expecting bad to happen to you and never want good for you.

The last point to take note in order to differentiate between a dream builder and a dream killer is that the former will walk with you through tough and trying times, they will push you to become better, will offer assistance to the best they can when you need it the most, and they will become part of your success story. While the latter will want to drain your energy with their discouraging words, making you less confident and you may even begin to question your ability and your dream. So you have to be mindful of who you let into your left. More so, learn to trust your instincts and your intuition. If someone does not appear to be of a help to you or make you hopeful and motivated, then they may be doing the opposite already, so beware of them.
