The Diary game. A Day Wrapped in Snow, Reflections, and Responsibilities

Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to share with you yet another day of my life and I hope you all will get time to read and know about one more day of my life and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.

I got up early as Ramzan is approaching, and I couldn’t stop myself in bed for long and straight away after getting up, performed ablution and then went for the morning prayers in the nearby mosque. These days, morning prayers are quite pleasing as the temperature has significantly gone up, and the chill of the winter is no more prevalent in the valley. Upon reaching the mosque, I was already a little late and straightaway got into the alignment for the morning prayers and community prayers with other people of the society. I spent more than an hour in the mosque and then, at the end, made supplications and headed back towards my place.

The conditions were forecasted today as well, and the rain was imminent. We also hoped for some snowfall as per the predictions made by the meteorological department of the valley. On reaching my place, I went inside to have some physical exercises without exposing myself to the cold and also to the threat of the wild animals that roam in the apple orchards these days. After doing a good workout and as I was satisfied with the amount of calories I burnt, I was drenched in sweat, and before I could go for a bath, I waited for the sweat to dry up. Upon finishing my breakfast, I got ready for office.

Meanwhile, just after I returned from the mosque, the snowfall started, and in just a few hours, till 10 AM, a good amount of snow had accumulated outside. It was quite a pleasing scene to witness as the precipitation this year has been scarce, and receiving this snowfall was no less than a blessing. People were happy as they had been waiting for this snow for a long time. The whole winter had gone dry, and this snowfall is quite important, not only for the glaciers to rejuvenate and thus ensure the perennial flow of water in the streams but also for the agriculture sector, which is wholly and solely dependent on natural irrigation rather than artificial sources of irrigation.

While I was out in the village where I have been posted, spending the day doing registrations and making people aware of the various programmes of the government, the weather continued to remain overcast, which was a good sign as we anticipated some more precipitation. Even throughout the day, some short intervals of rainfall and snowfall occurred, but not sufficiently. I could finish the day’s tasks a little late, around 3 PM, after which I headed back towards my place. Due to the snowfall, the temperature dipped a little, making life a bit difficult. Upon reaching my place, I was exhausted, and to get some relief, I got fresh and then had a warm cup of tea before I could sit beside the heat blower, where I got some comfort and took a nap there for a while.

Later in the day, I went to see my grandmother, who lives in the same village and who had actually been feeling unwell for quite a few days. My mother had asked me to go and see her. I spent more than an hour there, inquiring about her health, and it was quite emotional for me because we were raised by our grandmother, and she had dedicated a lot of time to us. The moments of her caring for us are still vivid in my mind, and we can never thank her enough for her blessings, utmost care, and love she has shown us throughout our lives. It’s quite sad to see her old now, and realizing that she has wrinkles on her face makes us more worried, as we have a strong bond with her. Anyways, I pray to my God that she lives for many years to come.

Later, upon reaching back home, I straightaway had my dinner and then headed towards my room to read a few chapters of Indian Polity by M. Laxmikant. Later in the day, I spent some time scrolling through reels on Instagram and then went to sleep at 11:30 PM to call it a day.
