Ingredients Used
🥞 Butter 100g
🥞Sugar 100g
🎂Flour 100g
🎂2 Eggs
🍰Baking powder 1/2 tsp
🍰Vanilla 1/2 tps
🥞Cocoa powder 15 g
🥞Milk 3 tbsp
The making process
In a clean dry bowel, I added the butter and sugar, all in required quantity beat well till smooth creamer is achieved.
As instructed I added my egg one by one and mixed it together using the same spatula till I achieved a smooth texture mix.
My next step followed by adding of my vanilla flavour to my creamer and then mixed all together.
In this step, add the cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder. Sift and mix well for a while.
Finally, I added liquid milk to it and mixed the batter well.
I greased my pan with butter to avoid the cake sticking to it. I go in with mixed running batter into the pan.
Before this time, I have preheated my oven at 175⁰C, for 10 minutes, so I Placed the mold at the center of the oven for about 40 minutes.
My last step with inserting toothpick into cake to check if it is fully cooked. If it comes out dry, this means it has properly cooked. I allowed my Cake to cool before I turn it to the plates.
List the prices of the ingredients you used in making the recipe, one by one.

Is this your first time making a chocolate cake? Or have you made a chocolate cake before?
Cake in general is one of the dessert we love and Cherish so much, as such I have prepare it several times. But to be very honest, this is my first time of preparing chocolate cake . I am not a fan of pastry but my family members are. They often get it from georgey store and we all enjoyed it as a family.
Seeing this week steemit learning challenge, I was super curious to learn. I see this as an avenue to explore and increase my knowledge in my cooking skills.I was partly nervous to see the outcome.
My experience is really awesome, imagine discovering what you don't know, it is always an exciting moment irrespective of what challenge or difficulties we encounter.
Thanks to this challenge because now I've make a chocolate cake and I just like the fact that cake making has some special ingredients and flavour to make it unique in different taste and colours. Kudos to @m-fdo.
Explain the importance of the cocoa powder/chocolate powder used in the cake. Also, why do you use less cocoa powder than flour?
I made this chocolate cake with cocoa powder. Cocoa powder is an important ingredient in making chocolate cakes. It has strong aroma and give good texture and colour to the cake.
Cocoa has a bitter taste therefore, add large quantity more than flour, will make your cake very bitter. The second reason is that the colour of Coco powder is too much darker it's affected on the colour of the cake presentation, looking burnt .
I realised that Less cocoa powder should be used because it has a stronger, more intense flavor than flour. A small amount is needed to achieve the desired flavor. Cocoa absorbs more water than flour; if too much cocoa is used, the texture of the cakes is lost. Did you know this?
My special thanks goes to steemit team for selecting this course and the teacher who is willing to teacher is an interesting way.
I would like to invite @ulfatulrahmah, @jyoti-thelight and @pandora2010, @memamum @wringo to prepare and share chocolate cake with us.
