Sowing Kindness and Teaching Kindness: A Promise from My Heart |
---|
Growing up without a father since the age of seven, makes me see life through act of kindness from strangers the truth is, life has been anything but smooth. From childhood till now in college at a point of becoming a graduate, I have experienced many moments where I was at the edge of many possible fall off, most time ready to give up, tired and uncertain. But in those moments of weakness, strength always comes through for me through help that often came from unexpected people. Strangers who barely knew me would show me acts of kindness that lifted me from my lowest point. Sometimes it was food, other times it was school supplies or just a word of encouragement that reminded me that I still mattered.
Those experiences really shaped me. Today, I may not have so much in my bank account: not a wallet full of minted notes or coins but I have a little something saved. More importantly, I want to create in me the will to give back, not just by helping those in need, but by teaching others especially the young ones how to be kind and my reasons is because if kindness is taught early, it becomes a lifestyle. Should 15 kids be thought act of kindness, in future, another 15 souls in need out there will receive help that will keep their hope alive .
My Plan |
---|
My plan is simple but intentional. With the recent assumption of secondary schools on April 28, 2025, I will implore my five nieces and nephews to show kindness to the most needy in their school. I will give each of these young ones ₦2,000 (equivalent to about 8.21 Steem). Their task is simple. To find one less privileged friend in school, someone who might be going through hard times and offer them that money or pending on what they are in need of purchase one for them as an act of kindness.
My Intention |
---|
But it doesn’t end there because after this, each child will invite the friend they helped to our house for a simple round table dinner. Each kid invited, most inform their parent and guidance of this invite as this will be after school gathering. This gathering will not only be a time to eat and share, but a moment to listen to hear from the hearts of those who received and those who gave. I want to understand how this single act affected them, what it meant and if it sparked something inside them.
Through this, I believe we will plant a seed, one that will grow and blossom into more acts of kindness, spreading from child to child, home to home and generation to generation.
Next Step: Evidence. |
---|
To make this personal, I have told them to invite the friends they help for a simple dinner at our house. As I really want to hear and feel connected to their stories and ask how this small gesture affected them.
Why This Matters |
---|
This will not be solely about giving this kids money but teaching them act of kindness, thoughtful and been generous.

Greetings @berda01, I’m glad with the gesture you are making to reaching out to the less privileged kids. As you earlier said, we must not wait to achieve big before we can take the steps to showing kindness. Though you did not respect the contest rules but I will support your gesture with 10 Steem.

I really appreciate your kind gesture in acknowledging this. Plus your immensely 10 steem support. It will really go along way.
In every contest I entered, I tried my best to keep to rules.
To err is human and I stand to be corrected. I have really improved in my writing due to help from those who point out error in my work.
Pls🙏 indicate the area of rules i erred...
