Celebrating 2025 Easter Convention with my family in the village: Creative Writing: 20th April, 2025.

Happy Easter my good friends of this amazing community, may the spirit of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ dwell with us and prosper us in all our dealings. I wish to share with you today my joyous moment with my family in the village as I joined them in rounding up their Easter Convention. Please stay tuned and also share your thoughts.

As I slowly opened my eyes to the warm rays of the morning sun peeking through the window, I knew it was going to be a special day. It was Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025, and I am still in the village, enjoying the holidays with my family.

I quickly got out of bed and began tackling the home chores. The sound of sweeping and washing filled the air as I worked diligently to get everything done before we left for church.

Once the chores were done, I headed to the kitchen to start cooking breakfast. Today's menu consisted of Afang soup, a traditional Nigerian dish made with leafy greens and a variety of spices. I was excited to cook it with my sister, Emediong, and we were joined by my son, Princewill, and his niece, Unwana.

As we cooked, the aroma of the soup filled the air, making our mouths water in anticipation. We chatted and laughed as we worked together, enjoying each other's company. Once the soup was ready, we sat down to eat, savoring the delicious flavours and textures.

With our bellies full, we got ready to head to the Apostolic Church, Ikot Ebak District, where my mom and sister are members. Today was the final day of their Easter convention, and we were excited to join them for the celebration.

As we arrived at the church, we could feel the excitement and joy in the air. The congregation was dressed in their Sunday best, and the sound of hymns and praises filled the air. We took our seats and joined in the worship, feeling the presence of God among us.

The service was a beautiful celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, with powerful sermons, prayers, and songs of praise. As the convention came to a close, the congregation erupted in a joyful shout of "Hallelujah!" and "Praise the Lord!"

As we left the church, I felt grateful for the opportunity to spend Easter with my family and community. It had been a truly special day, filled with love, joy, and praise. And as we walked home, arm in arm, I knew that this Easter convention would be a memory we would cherish for a long time to come.
