Paul Lambert has been appointed as Stoke City's new manager. The former Aston Villa and Norwich boss has signed a two-and-half-year contract. Lambert succeeds Mark Hughes, who was axed on January 6. Chairman Peter Coates said: “Paul greatly impressed us with his knowledge of our squad and had a clear plan of how he would improve our results.
